Lonna was glad that the alarm had interrupted Lauren’s lesson earlier she was not sure how she would deal with being taught by her former pupil, it was bad enough being taught by her former colleagues. She was now sitting in a maths lesson being given by Jefferey Jones. He had only started at the school a few weeks ago and seemed nice enough. Not that there was anything wrong with him but she had not taken any time to get to know him. Maybe when she got her own life back she would take time to find out more about him. Yeah, when she got her life back from Lauren.

“You got the hot for Mr Jones then Lonna?” Susie asked her from the desk next to her. “No way,” Lonna answered. “Good, I would hate to have to tell Jake that you fancied someone else,” Susie said smiling. Susie has always wanted to take Jake away from me but I won’t let her, Lonna thought to herself. She caught herself in mid-thought. Jake was not her boyfriend he was Lauren’s. She had inherited him along with the rest of Lauren’s life when this whatever it was had happened. No Jake was her student, not her boyfriend.

In a classroom not too far away Lauren was teaching her third chemistry class of the morning. She was beginning to enjoy it as well. Yes, there were one or two problematic students like Lucy Hendrix. She was beginning to think that girl did not want to learn. She was only there because her parents had told her to attend school. They did not want her expelled from yet another school. Lauren stopped her in mid-stride back down to her temporary desk. She had taken to walking up and down the aisle of the classroom when handing out a quiz to the students. Where had the information about Lucy come from? She had never spoken to Lucy what with her being two years below her. Well, she had been before this had happened to her.

She had started her walk down towards her seat when there was a knock on the classroom door. A moment later in walked Mary Elliot. Now what, Lauren thought. “Continue with your work class and remember I will know if you are cheating,” Lauren said could I sound any more like a teacher, she thought as she walked towards Mary.
