They did keep that word on that. A crack squad of 16 were given some houses in a different settlement similarly blighted by crime. 2 warriors of each color were selected to do this. Even better, they were doubled up when they all left the ship. Once they got to the settlement, they split apart to get started breeding. Even with the named members working, there were still 2 warriors of each color to use together for developing eggs and genetic material. I was glad that this was taking place. That was very good for us. More of us being born was obviously good. Breeding in this way will allow our species to flourish in this environment. They were warriors, so they were not at all shy. Following the medics and fighting those that would interfere with their work was really easy. Blasting them and using our melee attacks was all we needed to do. I knew that I was good at it. The others were born for it. That service was something that showed how good and useful our people were. Hopefully, we could do enough to prove that we deserved a settlement to ourselves. We would be able to escape enemies.

Escaping our enemies was the main racial goal. We needed to figure a way off of the big ship where we could be attacked. I did not like the fact any harm could come to us while waiting for asylum. It was nice that I was on this side. If it was not for me making that deal with the doctor, we would still all be on the ship. Keeping up the good work was what we needed to do. Suzie was with me, so that was a bonus. We got to hang out and see what was going on in the settlement we were in. Lots of crime and debauchery. Most of the people here were poor and forced to work shitty jobs. Desperation had long since set in. This might as well be a penal colony with all of their base criminality. We and the medics were expected to deal with all of it. I was happy to be assigned the graveyard shift. That was when a lot of the crime happened in the colony. People wanted the cover of darkness. It was never boring with comrades like Onyx Blaze, Pitch Gleam, Violet Twinkle and Green Tho around me. They were very opinionated and all eager to prove themselves. Green Tho was strongest among us.

Based on the stats, greens would always be stronger than blacks and violets. I was probably better based on the basis of leveling. We got the hours where the most calls came in. With us there, the medics were able to go out and respond. Without us, they probably would drag their feet and not arrive until daylight broke. This was partially what got the death rates and crime stats to go down so much. It did not matter that they were lazy. This worked in our favor. Hard working immigrants and all. We were a crack team of enforcers that could really make a difference. Going around and slapping around criminals was fun too. I could not lie about that. Some of them went in guns blazing in order to ensure their targets died. Others laid very elaborate traps to prevent us from getting to our guy. Either way, it was our job to get in there and take out as many barriers to the success of the mission as possible. When the female officer came back to report that things were doing well, she had a small grin. It seemed that we were the only unit under her putting up good numbers. We gave her something.
