All of the people who had been arrested and been put into cells were moved above ground, but then put into cages. Empress Sarah didn't want to walk through the sewers to meet her subjects. Who would?
Karyn watched from her cage, as Empress Sarah walked down the street. She had an extremely beautiful and very regal-looking dress on. And on top of her head was her crown, with the wishing stone embedded in it.
When Sarah passed Karyn's cage, she stopped. "It can't be. I erased you from history. You shouldn't be here!"
Then Karyn said "I've heard that you can grant a pardon for me if I bow before you and kiss your hand, Your Highness." Karyn thought that if she layed on the charm and respect (which Sarah definitely did not deserve), then maybe Sarah would buy into it and let her go.
"That's right, but there's no way I'd let you go."
"I've changed, Your Highness. I won't make any trouble. I promise." Of course, Karyn was lying.
Sarah paused and thought about it, then decided let Karyn bow and kiss. She did and Sarah let her go.
"Thank you, Sarah," Karyn said, with a smile.
Sarah became angry. "That's Empress Sarah to you," she said, before she realized what Karyn was up to.
In one swoop of her hand, Karyn swiped Sarah's crown off, immediately touched the stone embedded in it, and said "I wish ..."
