"Send him back."
Sarah McMillan woke up in a cold sweat. She reached for her cell phone, but despite being on the nightstand, charging, it didn't respond...as if it was out of batteries. She got up, grabbed a robe, and headed to the antique clock in the hall. It was 4AM...but the clock wasn't ticking. Sarah was many things...vain, self-centered, arrogant...but she wasn't stupid. Something was definitely strange. The arrogance was only why she thought she could just deal with it.
She headed to her parent's room. Despite being a large house, only four people actually lived there. Her parents, the family maid, and herself. Suddenly, all the lights in the house lit up at once at full brightness. She found her mother sound asleep in bed, dead to the world and not at all responding..but that was also not uncommon. She did occasionally take a sleeping pill, but fortunately not on the nights she'd been drinking. If her mother took a sleeping pill, then her father was probably in one of the guest rooms.
She heard the sound of the front door opening, and hurried out to see what it was. From the second floor landing, she could see a group of men in blue jumpsuits, looking like moving men, entering the house. They moved robotically in different directions, followed by a second set, carrying boxes, bubble wrap, and other equipment. Sarah screamed, and started to run back to her bedroom, but was quickly surrounded by the men before she realized...she wasn't surrounded. They seemed to be ignoring her as they went about their business. There was no conversation, everything was absolutely silent as they started to work.
She tried to run, avoiding the workers who were storming the place like a colony of ants. She got to the door, and was able to see several black unmarked vehicles outside, the largest of which was a truck, stationed outside.
