Doing that had saved Zahrelon's life. "I need to thank you and your mother again. Zahrelon is a precious part of our coven. I would be upset if something bad happened to him." I said genuinely. "There is no need to dwell on that little incident. I just wanted to help my son in any way I could. It is long behind us. He's been well behaved ever since." I heard from behind me. Turning, I saw a young woman. I supposed that magic could do all things. I bowed my head a bit and said "Still, I would feel rude if I did not thank you. Xavier is someone who I've come to rely on." She smiled, but it did not reach her eyes. "I know. He's told me all about it." she said curtly. For some reason, she was being very curt and passive aggressive. "With the new influx of whelps, I am thinking of opening up a new club. Maybe you guys would be interested in managing The Wreck on a more permanent basis. I wouldn't throw you to these whelps before I can train them on how we do things in the Mortal Realm." I said. Both of their eyes widened up. Before Xavier could answer, she said "We'd love to. Let's go Xavier."
Clearly, something was up with Xavier's mother. She was said to be a capable witch, so I needed to be careful with her. I could get to the bottom of it later. We all had to address some things. They had done no work for the guilds. That was fine since they did not like us much anyway. It would also be bad if they got so far ahead of us. All of them would be impossible to catch. Bertie had left the coven a long time ago. I called to see if he wanted to join on a permanent basis. He accepted the offer. It was in large part to the fact that he was still in contact with Pentora. Reconnecting with a friend was a good draw. Fulko was also in the city. He was happy to see me back. It meant that there was work to do. The first thing I needed to do was call Larry. He rushed over to see his wife. She simply charmed him so that he would be okay with Helera moving in. I then told him about my need for more space. We got to work on another plot of land in the neighborhood. We bought it and began construction. While that was going on, I dropped the monk candidates off at the temple with some new manuals.
Monks are united in their ability to magically harness energy that flows in their bodies. Whether channeled as a striking display of combat prowess or a subtler focus of defensive ability and speed, this energy infuses all that a monk does. This energy is an element of the magic that suffuses the multiverse—specifically, the element that flows through living bodies. Monks harness this power within themselves to create magical effects and exceed their bodies' very physical capabilities, and some of their special attacks can hinder the flow of ki in their opponents. Using this energy, monks channel uncanny speed and strength into unarmed strikes. As they gain experience, their martial training and their mastery of ki gives them more power over their bodies and the bodies of all their foes. The majority of monks don't shun their neighbors, making frequent visits to nearby towns or villages and exchanging their service for food and other goods. As versatile warriors, monks often end up protecting neighbors from monsters or tyrants. As they all were sat in Bilios's temple, it would be in service to him.
