Arriving at the club, everyone was up front and ready to go except for Marantyz. Vohrear was quick to tell me that he was in the back. I sighed and went to where I heard the sounds of a rocking bed. I entered the room to see him and Xavier canoodling. Luckily for me and Xavier, they still had their clothes on. Marantyz was getting frisky with his warlock, but he had resisted the temptations to fuck him. It did not stop the incubus from using his fiendish strength to just push the human down on the bed and start dry humping him. "Alright, alright. Get up you two. We don't have much time until we open up." I told them. Marantyz was visibly upset, but he did what I said when I gave him a look. Xavier sighed in relief as he got out of bed. He was still hard as a rock though. I just pretended not to notice. "Why are you here this time?" I asked. He actually looked happy. "I have been training and I believe that I am finally ready to receive more power from Marantyz." he said. I looked over at Marantyz. He shrugged his shoulders. "I guess his soul has gotten a bit juicier lately." he said. That had to be good.

Juicy as his soul was, if Xavier's training had warranted it, he should get the power up that ranking up in his class deserved. After going out and training by defeating monsters out in the wild, he had grinded to level 3 as a warlock. That was pretty cool. That gave him some nice perks. At 3rd level, it is customary for the otherworldly patron to bestow a gift upon their warlock for loyal service. Xavier did help Marantyz with his transcriptions. That was a chore the incubus had that became much easier. Out of the options given to him, Xavier chose the Pact of the Tome. The patron gives the warlock a grimoire called a Book of Shadows. When Xavier placed his hands on it, he could choose any three cantrips from any class. The cantrips did not need to be from the same spell list either. While the book was on his person, he could cast those cantrips at will. They did not count against his number of cantrips known. Any cantrip that Xavier casted with the tome was then considered a warlock cantrip. If he ever lost the Book of Shadows, he could perform a 1-hour ceremony to receive a replacement.

This ceremony could be performed during a short or long rest, and it destroyed the previous book. The book would turn to ash when Xavier died. His mother was a good wizard and he had always admired her. It was no surprise when he chose 3 wizard cantrips. Marantyz also directly taught him Blindness, Deafness and Scorching Ray. It was cool. Aside from the 5 spells he learned from the incubus, he now had 5 cantrips. Those were Mage Hand, Prestidigitation, Toll the Dead, True Strike and Chill Touch. As he had leveled up he could choose his Eldritch Invocations. I would have thought he would come running here as soon as he hit 2nd level. Either something kept him from coming back here until now, or his training really paid off. Since he had the Pact of the Tome, he chose Eldritch Invocations that would enhance it. First, he chose Aspect of the Moon. He no longer needed to sleep and could not be forced to sleep by any means. To gain the benefits of a long rest, Xavier could simply spend all 8 hours doing some light activity, such as reading his Book of Shadows and keeping watch.
