That was how I ended up giving Acario, his wife and Alfio Meranda, lieutenant of Square district a tour of La Familia. I decided to give them a top down look. I showed all of them the suite. They seemed to like it. "And you have your 2 mistresses living here for free?" Alfio asked. "Yeah. They raise my kids. I was an orphan. Having a family is important to me. With this town being the way it is, I can have 3 at once." I joked. We skipped their floors and went down to the lesser suites. After that, the only things left to show off were the standard rooms, kitchen, garage and the pool. We ended up eating lunch in the kitchen. "Why here in the kitchen and not in the dining room?" I heard Belina ask Acario. "Full transparency. I can't have the reputation of someone getting poisoned in my hotel. That's bad for business. I don't trust you all have come here only for a quaint tour either. It's safer to simply watch them cook and eat what we want here." I explained. We continued eating and them moved on. At the end of the tour, we were all in the lobby. Acario said "Thanks boy, you given me some nice ideas."
Questioning him would get me nowhere. I just watched as they left. 8 days later, a new hotel popped up in the Hills district. The day after, 2 waves of tough thugs tried to breech the doors of La Familia. They were repelled at the door. I was not going to give it up to anyone. It was the only place that I still owned directly. I could try to open something else up to see what it was like. I've been in the speakeasy, brewery, brothel and hotel rackets. Maybe I could open up a drug lab or den. Then again, I did not want to deal with druggies all day. That would get annoying. Emilio had a clinic from where he could do his mob doctor job in peace. As a 5 star doctor, he had the right to practice medicine and have it respected even by those outside of this lifestyle. He was done with the days of running around the city waiting for some random thug to return to finish the job. I was no less skilled than he was. If I opened up a clinic here in Askill Town, I could have Carlo, Marco and Rocco work with me. It would literally be a family business. Speaking of family business, the boys were invited to a birthday party.
We were a unit, so I told their mothers that I would chaperone for them. There was not much they could say to that. I needed to make sure that they could all show off by having the best gifts. I bought the boy a necklace, some videogames and a car. He was older than the boys so he could drive. Rocco and Marco got the invitation as it was when I was out with Carlo. They boys pooled money together to get a fancy teddy bear they saw in an ad. That would be the sweet cherry on top of the cake. I had my man Romeo drove the car there. I drove the boys. We stayed at their house for a couple of hours. I was talking with the parents. They looked very nervous to have me there. Carlo, Marco and Rocco were all upstairs with the birthday boy and all his other friends. They were playing until the boy's mother called them all down. We had to blow out the candles and sing for him. That was when he was presented with his birthday gifts. He was totally ecstatic with the car. He took a lap around the block. We could hear the roar from the engine. It was amazing. After that we all went back to the hotel.
