We were all rocked hard when Cameron's home was attacked by some thugs. It happened when he was out on an errand. Ruth was learning at school at the time. This still left his mother alone. They broke down the door and trashed the whole place. She was able to escape into the bathroom, but it was clear that the experience shook her up greatly. Ruth found her first when school let out. She saw the broken door and called Cameron on her phone. Cameron then called all of us after making sure that she was okay. He was pissed off. And rightfully so. His mom did not get a good look at them, so it was impossible to tell who did it. That was probably for the best as who knew what would have happened if they found her. We wanted to get revenge, but we needed to find the culprits. That would take some time investigating. It was not something any of us had any skill in doing. There was a decent fixer in town. We paid him to figure it out. That was the best we could do. Things were getting tense here now. There were also more attacks from thugs at our rackets. Nicolò was very pissed off about it.
I did not blame him a single bit. Payday district was the part of the city he had been appointed to oversee. Being a lieutenant mean a lot to him. His rank showed that he had finally made it. For me, it was just about the money I could get. Now, things had gotten to the point that I was thinking of getting involved. But before even that, I was asked to help with something else. Tommy, Asella and Arminio had a problem. Some of the whores at Ruby Road got to gossiping and snooping around. That was never good. Somehow, they managed to stumble on the mother of all secrets. Tommy was not the father of Rosario. It did not appear that they knew the real father yet. That would simply ruin them. The gang of 4 wanted a bigger cut from the johns they fucked. They also wanted weekly hush money payments. They were clearly cunning, but they lacked brains. You don't threaten your own boss unless you are ready to jump ship. Tommy, Asella and Arminio wanted all of them dead. Bianca was more than willing to take all 4 jobs. It only took a day to rid us of them. That put her to 6 jobs. Only 4 were left.
Life was doing well. Time moved on and I had to go to the all girl's religious school. I got there about 12 minutes early and found that there was a trio of seats reserved for Bella, Bianca and I. I sat in the middle of the 3 seats. It gave me such a sense of smug satisfaction that I chuckled to myself. Bella and Bianca came 5 minutes later. I saw that they were surprised to see me there. Apparently, they were with the children until it was time for prayer and the team chant to get them in the spirit for success. I did not answer the phone when they called me. I apologized. I was already inside so I had turned it off. I did not want to have my phone ring during their performance. That would be awful. There was something that I had to ask though. Why were we at the ice hockey rink? Bella gave me a dirty look. Bianca sighed and said that they were so adept at dancing, they moved on to ice skating. This is a signature feature of the girl's school, so the performance will be done on ice here and on their stage the next day at the boy's school. It made sense to me. I watched as the 10 began skating on the ice.
