Pasha had tried being a Top for a while. It was only when he had failed 5 times that he had to come to terms that he was not going to be the one engaging in combat. It was still hard to transition for him. Pasha got the hang of it, but it was too late. He had run out of attempts. Since he was a Bottom, Oliver did not mind partnering with him. That was not the only reason that he started with the Russian boy. Norman was a total creep. Unlike Sei, who kept his admiration to himself aside from glances here and there, the English boy did not mind getting hands on. He found every opportunity acceptable to touch Oliver- and several that were not acceptable. Norman kept referring to Oliver as the Angel of San Salvador. That was the name he was given in the press when he saved the officer. Oliver had to firmly tell Norman off for slapping his ass after a difficult team exercise they completed. He also had pictures of Oliver in a scrapbook. The other members of the squad thought it was creepy as well. They did not do anything about it. Both of them would be leaving base after the next 3 days were up.

Norman

Unlike with the regular sessions, the pilots had 3 consecutive chances on 3 consecutive days to prove themselves. To stay in the program, they needed to successfully synchronize on average once a day. 3 times total before the testing period was over. Neither of them were able to synchronize with each other at all, so their next 2 partners were crucial. Obviously they were thrown together. That was their Day One. The commanding officer was forcing both of them to be with Oliver whether he liked it or not. Day 2 was for Oliver to spend with Pasha. He would go to Norman on Day 3. They were both free to choose the third partner from any of the squad members. It was Rinto the Norman chose. Made sense to go with the boy with the highest Black Pulse in the whole squad. It would be easier for him to carry Norman by doing most of the work. When it was time to get in the cockpit, the white haired Russian said "Let's do this, comrade!" Oliver just rolled his eyes. He did not want to be there. It was a step above Norman, but not by all that much. They got to the room the visor generated for him.
