Another two weeks passed before Jon decidec to act; he had begun thinking that Ethel was right and there was too much risk, but another two weeks of bullying and the thought of what Sarah could go on doing with the power of the wishing stone finally gave him the courage he needed. That Friday he decided to cut English class while Sarah and Ethel had gym; the locker rooms were accessible through the hallway, and if he could sneak into the girls' section he could retrieve the stone from the locker Sarah used while in gym class. He managed to slip into the hallway without being seen, though he thought he caught a glimpse of Ehtel walking a slow lap around the gym, and he made his way into the girls locker room. His biggest fear was that he'd get caught by a teacher-then Sarah wouuldn't even have to do anything to him-though she probably still would!
After a couple tries he thought he found the locker Ethel said Sarah usually used. Opening it, he saw what he'd dreamed about-the wishing stone! Overjoyed, Jon reached for it-and it disappeared! He then heard a too familiar voice coming from behind him "Looking for this, Jon? You never learn." He turned and saw Sarah, holding the stone in her left hand.
