It was funny, but I did not allow any arguing. Both of them were being so stubborn. It was their fault that it had come to this. I just looked at Bernardo. "You should be very happy to sit on Bernardo. He's way too young to pop a boner even if he wanted to!" I teased them lightly. Bernardo blushed red. "Shut up!" he snapped. Araldo grumbled under his breath. "Damn it. Treating me like a kid!" he whispered. We got in and made the trip to Askill with little problems. Since I was the lieutenant, I could loosen the reins on things. Tommy could become the official manager of Ruby Road. He made the place what it was and he was a made man now. Cameron and Ronan were close to the goal. Cameron just needed to get a girlfriend. Ronan needed a beard. Things would then fall into place. I was not the lieutenant of the Payday District. However, I was the de facto head of the town as the only lieutenant appointed. All proceeds from the Payday District would go to me. I still had to pay my dues, but it was straight to the enforcer of the family head. It was also a lesser amount. I had earned that via my position.

Due to my oath, members of my ethnicity had to be prioritized when it came to promotion. It was because Tommy became a made man that I could give him his brothel. I could justify it because the others were not made yet. If I get Nicolò, Araldo and Bernardo to become made, they could own their hotels and run all of the Payday district rackets by themselves. It was when I sat down at my desk in the headquarters that my phone began to ring. I picked up and held the receiver to my ear. A raspy voice was on the other end of the line. "There are 3 targets for elimination." I had been told to expect a call from a man like this. His name was the Gardener. He was the man right under the don and his enforcer. Even the second in command of our syndicate had to tread lightly around him. His role was to call out hits and preside of those that were to be excommunicated. I wrote the names down. It was a group of notables in town. A worker in the mine wanted to form a union and was going to use the gold runs as a vehicle to get people to vote. Then there was a politician running against their mayor.

The third target was a prominent member of the Glimmering Lions. Apparently, there was to be a coup among their leadership. We needed their main enforcer gone. He was propping up the current leader. The new leader would be more willing to play ball. I was going to take Ronan and Cameron with me on all of the hits. These would put them over the 10 mission threshold. "They will be taken care of soon enough." I said. He hung up the phone without another word. I rounded everyone up that was needed. We went straight to the mines. I could see who the target was. He was darting from one worker to the next. I had my men surround him. "Can we speak to you outside?" I asked. He nodded and left with us. It was a big mistake. We brought him to the headquarters and killed him there. Clean up was a pain. We dumped his body in a dumpster in The Yard district. Since we were doing well, we went around Square district looking for the politician. We did not see him. However, we heard that he was going to be at a Town Hall meeting the next day. That was great. We could still go kill him.

With that being the case, the enforcer was living it up at a casino in the Payday district. We waited for him to come out before we ran over and surrounded him. We were wearing strawberry red coats with the collars up and dark shades. No one was able to recognize us. We stabbed him a bunch until he was dead. It was a sneak attack, so he did not have the time to draw his gun before it was too late. He was a gangster, so we left his body there. A mobster lived and died by the sword. We just scattered in all directions after. We did not want to be tracked. Once we were out of sight and sure we were not followed, we got rid of the disguise as well. That was 2 down. There was one more. We needed another disguise this time. We had wigs and colored contacts. As I saw him walking around Town Square, I approached him. He was happy at first to talk to me. I tried to bait him into a big debate about taxes. That was when he began to curse me out for being dumb. He was known for being really passionate and foul mouthed. That was fine with me. Everyone else came from the shadows and shot him.
