Zoe Gibson was low key freaking out. She could not believe she'd managed to lose the magic wishing stone her grandpa had left her and wanted nothing more than to tear the school apart to try and find it. Unfortunately, when she'd tried to slip out of the cafeteria to go look for it, the assistant principal, Mr. Anderson, had caught her and forced her to return to the lunch room.
That's where she was now, impatiently waiting in line to buy her veggie wrap. On the other side of the large room she saw the bitchlets make their grand entrance and rolled her eyes in annoyance. She couldn't understand why everyone fawned over the McMillan sisters. The whole thing was totally bogus. She shook off her annoyance as she snatched her lunch and stomped her combat boot clad feet over towards the goth's lunch table; she didn't have time to get worked up over little things while the stone was hanging in the balance.
She grabbed a seat between Athena and Sabrina, the former looking nearly as worried as Zoe felt. Athena was the only person she'd shared the stone with and the occult loving girl was keenly aware of how powerful an artifact had slipped through their fingers. They'd made a test wish, turning a branch blue, and discovered not only was the stone incapable of reversing the wish, history had changed so the neighbor kid thought the branch had always been blue. With the way reality shifted along with the wishes, would they even notice if things started changing around them?
