Gay people were often disowned by their families because the nation we lived in was pretty homophobic. Cameron, Ronan and Tommy were all able to leave everything behind so easily because they no longer had any family ties left there. We did not need to inform them of anything. It was Tommy's parent's major loss. Neither of them deserved to be in his life anymore. The twins' family was a different story. We needed to tell them quickly. Asella and Arminio had to be the ones to do it. I helped by giving them a simple script to follow. We kept the initial scenario in tact. Arminio's part was that he was so enraged at the thought of his sister having a bastard child that he forced a relaxing Tommy at gunpoint to take responsibility for the situation. That meant a marriage. Tommy, being terrified of a real, passionate man begged to marry the pregnant Asella. For the sake of her own honor and the child's need to have their father in the home, she agreed to it. They eloped the very next day. Obviously, their father and older brother were mad. "Be thankful you cleaned your own mess!" the father growled.
He berated and shamed them for a full hour over the phone. Both Arminio and Asella were crying from the abuse thrown at them. Then their brother tagged in. He was a total bastard about it and even more harsh. But the twins were not disowned. It was not much to talk about, but it was still a win in our books. They did agree to at least meet Tommy. That was a good sign. As long as he could not look too foolish or too weak in front of them, it would all work itself out. The child was going to be the right ethnicity and be from a made mafia family. Tommy could now ride their coattails to success. Cameron was a bisexual guy. He could marry a woman like I was intending on doing and get in that way. Ronan was the real question. What would we do with him!? I doubted that there would be another made woman that would easily fall right into our lap. Then again, she did not really have to be a made woman. It could be any woman of the right ethnicity. No matter the quality of woman. It was not like Ronan could appreciate a good looking, high-class woman anyway. He was gay. I would have to go look.
I still had some bribing to do. This was a job for the whores. We bribed the mayor, the police chief and the fire chief. That was 3 more jobs under each of their belts. The ever nosy Catano Family really wanted to see Tommy. A full squad had 6 people in it. Nicolò, Araldo and Bernardo were coming as that was the task I told them to focus on. That still left 2 spots. I asked Ronan and Tommy to come along. Both of them would have another job counted towards the Diamond Butterflies. That would get them closer to the 10 that was needed. We made the trip together. Nicolò, Araldo and Bernardo needed missions as well. Luckily, there was no trouble getting there. No one tried to fight us on the journey there. I guess that there really was strength in numbers. When we got there, we were all invited to the Catano Family manor. It was also in the city. Arminio and Asella were already there. They had to have taken a train or something. We went in the finest clothes our money could buy. The Catano patriarch was not a happy man. He was dutiful though. With a new son in law, he offered to vouch for him.
