Outside in the parking lot, Donna turned towards Melissa, saying "I so want to make love to you right now."
"Out here in the parking lot?" the teenager asked the older woman. She may have been a lesbian now, but she wasn't some kind of shameless slut.
"Well, I'd take you home with me, but ... all of Brandon's stuff is there. I just don't want any reminders of him, you know?" Donna said.
"Speaking of reminders ..." Melissa said, pointing at Donna's wedding ring. "Maybe you should remove that."
"Well, I'm technically married ... even though I don't want to be ... I mean, to him," she said.
"Take it off," the teenager said. "You're mine now." Being part of the popular clique at school, Melissa had a bit of an arrogant streak and it was clear that Donna, despite being the older one, was the submissive one in their new relationship.
Donna took off the ring and put it in her purse. She thought it would feel weird not wearing it, but it felt freeing. Like she was no longer bound to that ... man.
"Now come on. I'm taking you home," Melissa said, grabbing Donna's hand and pulling her with her, not even considering how her parents would react, not just to their daughter being an out-and-proud lesbian, but also dating a woman about seven years older than her.
