As we got to her home, she invited me to a dinner date at her home. I would be able to meet her family. They would also be able to meet me. I guess that the discussion about what we did for work would happen. She asked if I could swing by sometime next week. I certainly could swing by. It was a mission with an open timeframe. As long as I showed up to her house around suppertime on any day in the next week, we could do the second date. That was nice. I wondered what they would have. They were a miner family. I then went back to the hotel. Cameron, Nicolò, Araldo and Bernardo wanted to know about it. I went into detail. I looked at the 4 of them. "You know, you guys are nice and good looking. You should seek out some girlfriends too." I said. Cameron looked a bit nervous. "You know I lean more towards guys." he said. I nodded and said "I know, but if you want to move up in this world, it would be a huge benefit if you could partner up with a girl of our ethnicity. That way your kids can be made gangsters when they grow up." Cameron seemed to think about it. Nicolò and Bernardo too.
I had to do some mob doctor jobs. People got really hurt in the mines after an explosion went off deep down. The next week was taken with me going in and making sure as many of the miners survived. I got a giant lump sum of cash for it and I thought that it was alright when I got it. I certainly was being undercut for all of the work I did though. What mattered is that I would be able to pay for the bribes. All of the bribes were bleeding us dry. I needed to get the lieutenant position established. That would make things easier to manage. It was easy for me to do things. Nicolò, Araldo and Bernardo had a monthly job. There were not many openings for influencer jobs for our family here. They could settle deals between the Glimmering Lions and Red Rays. I made them do it when one side asked me. That got them to rank up and get entries in the Blue Codex. They still only had 4 missions done for our family. They needed to get to 10 missions. That was when the Diamond Butterflies would take them more seriously. Until then, they would be ignored and seen as fools to be discarded. They needed kids.
Nicolò, Araldo and Bernardo was able to do some enforcing for a deal in Askill Town. Nicola wanted to get some of the drugs that was made here. It was apparently really good. He sent someone with a brief case full of cash. It was up to us to make sure that it went smoothly. The Red Rays knew better than to fuck around. The very next day, we had to enforce a deal with the Glimmering Lions for some of their booze. It was apparently all the rage to sample booze from other regions of the country now. I did not get it, but a job was a job. Nicolò, Araldo and Bernardo were inching closer to made man status. I hoped that things picked up for the influencer jobs. Otherwise, I would have to bring the whores along for the enforcer missions too. That was risky. I did not know how well they would do in a combat scenario. When the bullets starting flying, it was too late to just back away and pretend that everything was fine. The Glimmering Lions looked pretty shifty during the hand over, but did not pull anything this time. That was a good thing. Ezio suggested more bribes to the city and mayor when I asked him.
