That made Lorenzo roll his eyes and groan out loud. "Whatever. I'll lose my appetite at this rate. It's time to eat. Come along." he said. I had nothing to say after that. All I could do was just keep quiet and follow the lead of the others here. I was just a guest in Lorenzo's home. Nothing more. I also really needed his approval to endorse my initiation into the Diamond Butterfly mafia family. If he did not want to endorse me after the end of the meal, that was that. Lorenzo was the head of their family. I would have to find another family in the gang to sponsor me. We were seated and dinner was soon served. It was a steak and potatoes meal. There was also red wine. I ate all of my food quietly. There was nothing that I could do that would make me more likable in Lorenzo's stern eyes. Nothing that I could do would force him to do as I wanted here. The dinner was very nice. It tasted good for me. I liked it. He was looking at me after the meal was finished. "So you want to be part of this family, huh!?" he asked me. I looked him right in the eyes. "I want to join the family. As soon as possible." I told him.
He sighed out loud. "Very well. You will have the backing of the Bamonte Family." he said after a pregnant pause. That was great. Nicola and Ezio smiled at me. Bianca's hand squeezed mine. I looked at him and asked if she could get backing too. She looked surprised. "Let's settle down now. This whore you brought as a beard hasn't done any work worth notice. Let's not even get into the fact that she is not of the proper bloodlines." Lorenzo sneered. I just nodded and said "Makes sense. Bianca will prove her worth on her own. She is great at what she does." That is all I could say. Lorenzo clearly did not believe that. Bianca was an assassin. I doubted that she was going to take jobs that did not involve killing people. That meant 10 assassinations all on behalf of the Diamond Butterflies. We left the manor soon after the meal. Nicola and Ezio seemed pleasantly surprised at the outcome. "I really thought that you would lose your cool, Martino." Nicola admitted. I shrugged. "I needed him. I could hold my tongue for a night. You guys are his kids. He can't deny backing you. I'm a guest." I said.
My initiation was immediate. The very next day, I had to return to the Bamonte manor. There were several made men there. Nicola and Ezio were there to support me. All of the Bamontes were in lockstep. They had to be when their reputation was on the line. If I fucked up, this would look really bad on them. I was taken around to meet other notable made men in the mafia family. The association was explained to me. Including its basic rules, I was sure that I could do this. I owned a brewery. I could own as many racket as I could conqueror or buy. The revenue cut was 10% to the lieutenant for each business that I had. I was also at the beck and call of the lieutenant and the leadership when they had use of me. Then it was time for the big ceremony. My finger was pricked with a needle by the officiating member. A few drops of blood were spilled on a card bearing the likeness of a saint. The card was set on fire, and finally, I passed it rapidly from hand to hand to avoid burns. I took my total oath of loyalty to the Diamond Butterfly Mafia family. I was now officially a made gangster. My maps updated.
