A few minutes later, the trio of Goth girls were walking past the Madison house, a place that, in this newest reality, shouldn't have been familiar to any of them. But, as it was, Athena felt a strange connection to it, like she had been there before. Almost like a second home, but why?
Nadine stopped and looked back at Athena. "What is it?" she asked, seeing the younger Goth staring at the house they were just passing on their way to the club.
"I ... I don't know. This house ..." she said.
"What about it?" Sabrina asked.
"I think I've been here before. But also not," Athena said, again, not noticing that her pendant was flickering.
"What the fuck does that mean?" Nadine asked.
"I ... I don't know," she said, the confusion on her face turning into frustrated concentration as she tried to think of the last time she came to this house. But her memories told her that she had never gone inside and had only seen the house in passing.
"What reason would you even have for coming here?" Nadine asked. "Do you know anyone who lives here?"
"No. But I feel like I should. It's very confusing," Athena said.
"Okay, great. You're confused. Now can we keep on heading to the club, please?" Sabrina asked, impatiently.
Just at that moment, the door to the house opened and out came Jon Madison, a teenage boy who both Nadine and Sabrina knew (just like him, they were all Juniors), but he was for the most part a nobody that didn't really fit in with any of the social groups at school. Athena, on the other hand, knew him right away, but despite all her efforts, she had no idea why. Why was this boy and his house so familiar to her?
Seeing the three of them, Jon's eyes went wide. "Nadine?" he asked, astonished by what she looked like now.
"Yeah? What do you want?" she asked, confused.
"So that's who Zoe swapped with," he said aloud.
Athena's odd feeling returned once again. That name - Zoe - it sounded very familiar. But the only Zoe she knew was that stuck-up religious girl Zoe Madison. Athena and her friends, unfortunately, had had some run-ins with her at school. She was definitely not someone who Athena would hang out with, so why did it feel like she did, or should?
"What do you mean by that?" Athena inquired.
"Uh, well, you wouldn't ..." Jon stopped, as he felt a strange sensation coming over him, then his eyes went wide with panic. "I forgot to exclude myself from the wish!" he suddenly realized, right before his wish kicked in, causing him to swap.
