Walking out of the restroom stall Jo could see the coast was clear. ”Well?” Jo approached the restroom mirror that the Asian girl had been primping herself in. ”I still look like me...” Jo smiled into the mirror and was greeted by a full mouth of pearly white teeth. “O thank god...” Jo mumbled as she began washing her hands. Having dodged a massive bullet, Jo took a moment to gather her thoughts. ”Okay so I use whitening strips now and my teeth are slightly.... smaller and straighter? But what else has changed?” She asked her self as she did a quick check of her new memories. ”Mom’s taller... Zoe’s taller... Dad’s more athletic... Mom played sports in high school? Interesting...” The new mental pictures of her parents and sister swirled around in her head. ”They’ve changed, but they’re still basically who they were before. Just a tad taller and more athletic...” Jo pushed forward into her memories of college. ”I love you Piper.” The mental image of her girlfriend made her heart flutter. ”I should really thank Kir... Kirby? Wait...” To her dismay Kirby was absent from her new memories. ”No...” Jo felt her eyes well up at the loss of Kirby from her life. The only memories she had of him were seeing him at freshman orientation. For some reason Kirby had never worked up the nerve awkwardly asked her out. ”And now he’s gone...” Jo paused as a tear ran down her cheek.

“Pull yourself together Jo.” She said looking at her reddened eyes in the mirror. “You can’t let that bitch win.” Wiping the tear from her eye, Jo took a deep breath and looked in the direction of the bathroom door. ”I keep my eyes down and go straight to the nearby exit.” Jo took another deep breath and set off towards the bathroom door.

Pushing the door open Jo’s ears told her that the machine room was even busier than it was just a few minutes ago. Weight plates clinking together, people talking, headphones blaring... ”GO!” Her inner monologue yelled. A quick glance towards the door was all Jo needed, and she was on her way snaking between people and machines. Reaching the door, Jo pushed it open, and stepped out into the long hallway bisecting the gym. ”Locker room!” She mentally yelled. With her eyes locked on the floor Jo started hustling down the long hallway towards the locker room area. Jo passed several people on her way to the locker room, but her eyes only caught brief glimpses of calves and sneakers. ”Keep it up.” Jo told herself as she rounded the corner into the locker room. The sound of women talking and showers running filled Jo’s ears. ”Keep your head down and stay focused!” She told herself as she snaked her way through the locker room to the secluded corner where her locker was located.

”There!” Jo spotted her locker and yanked the door open. “I fucking made it” Jo said leaning forward and letting her head hang inside the locker. Jo let out a sigh of relief as she starred down at her duffle bag that was jammed into the bottom of the locker. ”Okay I should get changed and get out of here. Or...” Jo noticed the soap and shampoo she had nabbed earlier. ”I could shower off...” Jo squatted down to pick up the stolen shower supplies, but the sound of feet approaching caused Jo to freeze.
