(Author's note...since there are so many differences in this timeline...including different parents for Sarah and Jon...well, different from the most popular ones...I decided to include a slightly different version of Zelda, who has a different style here.)
Mikey looked at her. "You think so?"
"Zoe never did...I mean...Zoe is great...but her taste in clothes isn't why I like her."
"Athena?" a voice called from behind them.
She spun around, seeing Zelda Whitefield standing there. Zelda was another one of the Goths in her friend circle...But Zelda, despite being a good friend, was about as different from Athena as she could be. Athena was interested in the occult, Zelda was interested in computers...and her style was different. She tended to dye her hair different colors, switching every few months, when she needed a change, and her outfits reflected it. She liked some of the same classic Victorian touches Athena did, but she had a much more steampunk aesthetic to her. Zelda didn't like to stay in any one category though...and tended to experiment a lot depending on her mood. She'd even shown up after having snuck off to some wild rave dressed in some sort of a skintight outfit.
"Zelda...I didn't know you'd be here."
"Well, maybe if you and Zoe hadn't been avoiding me all week," Zelda said.
"We've...Zoe has been going through some stuff....I've been helping.." Athena said.
Mikey stiffled a laugh at that.
"Who's this? New girl?"
"Yeah...new girl," Mikey said. "Real new," he said, a slightly sour expression on his face.
"Reminds me a bit of Zoe," Zelda said. "I mean...she even looks a bit like Zoe..."
"Not her," Mikey said.
"Sorry...Zoe is a friend of ours...but she wouldn't be caught dead in that color." Zelda said. "I'm Zelda..." She said, sizing the figure in front of her up. There was definitely something about the new girl that seemed off.
