Luke lay on the floor in utter shock, staring at his reflection as tears rolled down his cartoonish face. For nearly half an hour he stared, oblivious to the chaos occurring in the rest of the house. It ran through his mind, over and over. He had become Princess Peach. A video game character. The gaming industry's iconic female and infamous damsel in distress. Nintendo's flagship dumb blonde. It wasn't possible. It was insanity. His mind was nearly at the breaking point when he was at last woken from his catatonia when another massive crash sounded behind him.
Then Luke remembered. He was at a party. There were dozens of other people in the house. And from the noises around him, very inebriated people. What would happen if they found him like this? Suddenly overcome with shame, Luke rose uneasily to his feet and rushed out the door. He had to get home.
He had made it several blocks down the street, shambling in his voluminous, puffy dress and heels, when he heard sirens. Stopping in surprise, he lost his balance and toppled over face first into the ground.
"Oh, poo!" He exclaimed, cringing at his effeminate outburst. Chillingly, he was reminded that his appearance wasn't all that had changed. But discovering the rest of his changes would have to wait.
Those sirens were getting closer. They were heading for Jennifer's house. Luke briefly considered whether the police could help him, but with a bitter (and squeaky) laugh quickly decided against approaching anyone.
What was he going to do, go to a hospital? Ask the doctor for anti-turning-into-a-video-game-character pills? No, he couldn't let anyone see him like this. Luke's parent's were out of town. He would hide in the trees so no one saw him, follow the street from a distance, and head to his house. Once he was there, he could figure out what to do. Not to mention get out of this ridiculous outfit and into some normal clothes.
His previous hysteria abated slightly with his new sense of purpose. He picked himself up off the ground, and; balancing precariously in his heels, once again began making his way home.
