At the wedding procession, I was Noel's best man. The rest of the group were also groomsmen. Zack was Henry's best man. The other delinquents they were close with were opposite us. The wedding went off without a hitch. I prayed no one would speak up when the priest asked if there were any objections. Luckily, no one did. They exchanged rings and their vows to each other. They gave each other a chaste peck on the lips when prompted to kiss. Everyone in attendance cheered for them. Then we had a small wedding reception where they made speeches. Neither of their families were rich, but they had to put something together so that neither side would look too poor. It was a pride thing. We danced and had a nice time. When dusk came, they were ushered out. There was a reservation at a love hotel for them. Noel's father and Henry's mother were going with them to make sure that the deed was done. Henry had paid good money for this. All we could do was wait at Zack's house until we heard the news. The next day, both of them came and looked excited. They scammed him.
Henry had used his maxxed out pheromone skill to get Noel's father to become infatuated with him. With him lunging on the bed, Henry had all the pretext he needed to knock the man out. His mother was obviously okay with it as it was not his money used to pay for the breeching. It was mine. They stayed for a few minutes and then left him at the hotel. They hid at Henry's place for the night and then came straight here in the morning. Our bus out of town was at noon. Zach and I had already packed. So did Henry. Noel had his luggage at his house, but he was able to get it when he took a cab home before the dad could return. We were all ready for the bus to get us out of dodge. It was funny when Noel's father ran after the bus after it had already began leaving the large depot. We were scott free. "Okay. We're safe and none of us have got fucked in the ass yet. When we get to Diamond City, I am getting a girlfriend." I told them all. They all smiled back at me. Noel and Henry took off their rings. No one needed to know they were married. It was five and a half bus ride with 2 stops in between.
Diamond City was a metropolis port city along a massive river. The river was a natural border between us and the neighboring nation. But there were 3 big bridges that connected our country to theirs. A fourth bridge in the north went to a third country. The city there, Kite City was a hub for commerce and social activity for the 3 nations. I thought that it was pretty cool Diamond City sat directly between the 2 southern bridges. Each bride was a good 123 miles on either side of the big city. There was a lot of commerce and socializing there too, though not as much. Diamond City was one the most... open minded cities because of the river. It was not as liberal as our larger neighbor to the west. However it was way better than the dystopia to the north. The government mandated that omegas be industrially presented and used as comfort men and women to soldiers and other civil servants. They were slaves in their country used for pumping out more and more bodies to be used for war and labor. I was a bit glad that I was not over there. This country was much better. It still really sucked though.
