Omegas did not get that much. They just stood where they were seated at the very back of the graduating class "for recognition". No one clapped except for the few beta parents of omega children and defiantly "liberal" omega parents in the crowd. They were soon glared down by the alphas in the crowd. We did not even get the diplomas today. They would be mailed to us within a month. This was just another example of omega discrimination. Noel and I got to see everyone else in the group get their time in the spotlight. Noel got to see his parents stand up and give him a little cheer before they were quieted. He was beaming like he just won an award for peak scholastic achievement. After the closing remarks, the alphas and betas got to throw their caps up into the air. Omegas did not get any. We were lucky that we got to have the dark robes. Everyone went to celebrate with their families. I was not invited to the restaurant with the twins' parents this time. Liam pulled me to the side after a brief moment with his parents. "Come with us." he said as he dragged me over by the hand. I went over.
Liam had an alpha father and a beta mother. It was his father that had pressured him to be an alpha. He was the only son of the family. He also had a pair of beta sisters six years older than him. With an age gap like that and a beta mother, Liam was going to be their last child. It was the pride for alphas to have alpha sons. In fact, there were lineages that whole families took pride in. For this country, who had the most alphas in their family tree was a very important thing. Upstart alphas were simply seen as the start of that proud family tree. Liam was only a third generation. I had dinner with their family. Because I got the fear of missing out, I readily accepted the offer. It was just one meal together. They treated me cordially for Liam's sake. It was his special day after all. They were still a bit shocked when I had made my own order. All of them had expected Liam to do it for me. I chose the shrimp alfredo. He had angel hair pasta and meatballs. I choose after him to make sure that it was an acceptable choice. I was not a mooch. They were both on the entre list, but mine was 4 dollars more.
None of them spoke to me. They were keen to talk at me or talk around me by asking questions to Liam. Whenever they did that, I just gave the answer. If they were just talking at me, I just continued eating while listening. I nodded my head or shook it when I needed to. From the social standards of the country, I was being very entitled and uppity. From where I was sitting, they were the ones that were being incredibly rude and condescending. It was clear that Liam was the one squirming the most at the table. I was totally calm. I was level 46 now. None of them could even touch me. The rest of his family were agitated, but his father was outright angry. "I've had it up to here with this omega slut you've brought with you, Liam!" he snapped as he slammed his fists on the table. Now other people were looking at us. Liam was looking down at his plate and trembling slightly. This was his father and he was still the head alpha of Liam's household. He did not have the courage to go against him. That was all on him. I did not know why he brought me with him. "I guess I should go. Sorry." I said.
