Sarah put on a smile and returned to the party. "Biff...look who is here..." She said.
Biff was sunning himself on a lounge and looked up to see Ethan and Abby. "Who?"
"You remember Abby and Ethan Andrews..." Sarah said.
"Like...Tiffany's friend?" Biff asked.
"Yes...Tiffany's friend," Sarah said. "Now...can you show Ethan around? If the Andrews decide to stay, maybe you can loan him a bathing suit?"
"That's like....so nice," Ethan said. Maybe he shouldn't have said she was acting like an old lady.
"I'm not sure..." Abby said. "I mean...I don't want to crash your party."
"Nonsense..." Sarah said. "Robert can make more refreshments if we need it. And...it is just a get together...when I throw a party...." she joked. She urged Abby to follow her.
Ethan sat down next to Biff. Biff turned. "I'm trying to get a bit of a tan..." Biff said.
"Why? You like...totally don't need it...I mean, you look pretty good already."
"Tell that to Mollie," Biff said, making a noise.
"Who?"
Biff gestured to the muscular figure playing with the kid in the pool. "That's Mollie."
Ethan looked at the muscular looking individual in the pool with some admiration.
"Instead of spending time with me, Mollie is spending time with Karyn..." Biff whined. "At first I thought it was sweet, but..."
"You're jealous of that kid?" Ethan said. "I mean...look at you. If Mollie would like...rather play sports than do things with you..."
"I like watching her play ball...." Biff admitted.
"And what do you want to be jealous about? If Mollie wants to hang around and play sports with her friends...why don't you do stuff with yours?"
"I.." Biff paused. "Like this? I mean...."
"Yeah, I know...If I go back to school on Monday and this isn't fixed..I'll totally die..." Ethan said.
The two former males continued to talk, becoming fast friends...or at least friends for the duration of the party. Abby and Sarah hadn't been friends, but they hadn't been enemies either...just not in the same friend group. Biff and Ethan, however...were bonding when both of them needed someone to talk to.
Sarah, meanwhile, climbed back into the hot tub. "This is Abby Andrews. She stopped by to check on us...wasn't that nice? She and her father Ethan are in our...little club," Sarah said.
"You are all taking this pretty well. I mean....Ethan is whining about every little thing," Abby commented.
"Well, what can we do?" Lucy commented. "Lock ourselves in our rooms until it passes?"
Abby chuckled. "I suppose you're right. We were just checking on Lydia and Buster Warren. Lydia hadn't been out of the house since the first day...and we all took her to the park."
Jon paused. "Miss Warren...the teacher?"
"Yes,' Abby said. "They weren't answering the phone, so we stopped by. I left the car there and walked."
"Well, we can drop you off if you want," Jon offered. "If you want to wait till after we dry off."
"Yes, Robert can make you up a plate," Lucy said.
"I guess we can stay a little while," Abby said, glancing to see Biff and Ethan chattering away.
