The passage from the gate was pretty cool. Due to the otherworldly nature of the progenitors, the interior decor of the tunnel was biomechanical. You could see the walls pulse and throb as we walked through. There was also a noticeable metallic sheen to it. Whatever it was, the walls had flecks of luminescent blue light coming from it in seemingly random segments dispersed throughout the area. To be perfectly honest, it was both stunningly beautiful and very unsettling at the same exact time. We all walked together for what felt like a couple of miles before we got to a flight of stairs that seemed to lead into nothing but pure darkness. That meant it was a really steep stairwell. It was not like there was an option to take an elevator, so we had to go down. There was also no railing to help us. We just had to look and step carefully. I was with all the members of my clan that were not still at the Foundry. They would be bringing back the XX-frames we made to our new hangar. Those 4 would therefore be missing the first official launch. That was a shame. Technically, Volition 05 and 06 would too.
If they were delayed from competing with us, that was more than fine with me. They had to be at least 2 days behind the coalition. They did not call me to hang out until a day after. I then had to get there and we spent all that time working out and fucking. Even if they went with their plan to steal my money immediately after I had passed out, they would still have to send their AEP units to the Foundry to make the XX-frames for Void Clan and then bring them back. It was supposed to take a month to build them. There was no way that it could be sped up. When we finally got to the bottom of the stairs, we were led through double doors. The open space that we saw was the same layout as Volition Clan's hangar. The general, the head researcher and all of their men were already there. The XX- frames were 300 feet tall mechs. To put in perspective, that was 20 times the size of an X-frame. It made me crane my neck up to look at it. They were massive and needed to be accessed by a blue platform. The power core was in their head. The cockpit was in the chest, where their big heart would be.
Heat Clan built the hangar. However it was representatives from Water and Magnetic Clans that brought the huge XX-frame here. Sonic Clan was the leader of the whole coalition. All the clans contributed here by submitting all of the blueprints. Seeing them be built to the specifications they set made all the cyborgs well up with pride. They were clearly happy with this achievement. The researchers were all over it. Heat Clan tried to gently shoo them away from it when it looked like it may be unsafe. Some of these researchers were unhinged. Then again, this could very well be the vehicle for world domination. Especially the one built and transported by Void Clan. We were not the last to arrive. The Church Clan, the PEAs in the dessert arrived with the Lightning Clan. Even though they were from our lab the barracks technically fell in their jurisdiction. That made them their de jure vassal. Humans were part of the Lightning Clan group. Some of them had contributed to the blueprints. Others helped their clan hunt the mechanical monsters that stalked the dessert. I got between them and the military.
