"Nadine, there you are," came a girl's voice. Jon and Karyn turned and saw Sabrina Johnson, the school's only Goth punk girl, walking towards them. Though ... there was something different about her. She still had the same pink-dyed hair that was her defining physical characteristic, but when she got closer, Jon and Karyn realized what it was. She wasn't wearing black, or even Goth clothes in general. She still had a punk look, but now she had more of a general rebel look instead of one associated with the Goth crowd. Currently, she was wearing a T-shirt with some punk rock band logo on the front, jeans, and a pair of Doc Martens boots. She had the same piercings as before, but now seemed to have even more tattoos, at least one of them being the anarchy symbol. And now that Jon noticed it, Nadine had a similar tattoo on her arm. "I thought we planned on skipping today. Maybe head downtown and fuck some shit up." She stopped when she saw Jon and Karyn there. "What are you doing with these two squares?"
Nadine was shocked. Was this horrible girl a friend of hers now? It seemed so. But the more Nadine thought about what Sabrina said to her, the more she found it appealing. Fucking some shit up ... whatever that meant exactly ... it sounded like fun. But it shouldn't have! Nadine wasn't like this. It was that rock! It changed her life ... it turned her into this horrible person ... it ...
"Come on," Sabrina said, grabbing a hold of Nadine's arm. "The quicker we get out of this shithole of a school, the quicker I can have a smoke."
Nadine shrugged off the punk girl. "Stay away from me," she snapped.
"What the hell is with you, Nadine?" Sabrina asked.
Nadine really didn't want to go anywhere with this girl, especially not to have a smoke. Though ... the more she thought about it, the more appealing that sounded. Wait a minute! Nadine wasn't a smoker! Or at least, she wasn't before Jon made that wish!
She spun around and grabbed the front of Jon's shirt, shoving him up against the wall, hard. "Undo what you did to me, you fucking prick!"
"Yeah! Now there's the Nadine I know and love!" Sabrina said excitedly. She had no idea what her best friend and fellow rebellious teen was talking about, but this was the Nadine she recognized. An anti-authority troublemaker with a mean streak. But that was the type of girl Nadine grew up to be, thanks to having a skanky mother and drunken asshole of a father.
