Jon thought Sarah was planning on tormenting him, or her, as the case was now. Outlandish a thing as it was that Sarah did, under the guise of punishing Jon for not doing anything bad (he was only trying to get back the stone Sarah had stolen, could she really be so stupid as to think he was there as a peeping tom?), Sarah’s attitude was starting to seem more playful than malicious. Jon however definitely didn’t expect what happened next.
After falling asleep on Sarah’s bed, Jon was roused when a totally naked Sarah got on the bed and picked her up like a baby, holding Jon against her bare breasts! Jon’s mouth hung open in surprise, as Sarah looked down at her and smiled cutely, and while cuddling Jon, slipped under the blanket and into bed together. But what Jon couldn’t get over was how amazing it was, and how good it felt, their bodies together like that with only Jon’s fur between them.
“What do you think, Jon, is it not as bad being like this as you thought?” Sarah said quietly, and then kissed Jon on the nose. “He he, look at you wagging your tail.”
Jon realized it was true, she hadn’t even put any thought into the implications of it, but she really was wagging her tail, and it was so natural to do so. Could it be, that Sarah wasn’t actually bad at all, and what seemed sadistic and unjustified and downright psychopathic was actually just all an overzealous flirt? This really stood to be an unforgettable and even enjoyable and certainly life-changing experience, maybe for the better, maybe Sarah’s style of seeming to be more reckless with the stone was the right way of using it after all.
Sarah nuzzled her face like a cat against Jon’s pointed fox face, and then without even realizing how weird it might seem, Jon licked Sarah’s face. Sarah squealed a little and hugged Jon much harder in return.
Soon Sarah was asleep, embracing her pet fox Jon against her naked body. Jon had a great deal of difficulty sleeping, but it was without doubt the best night of his or her life.
Eventually Jon fell asleep, and then woke up to find Sarah preparing for school. Did she really care about going to school if she had the power to take over the world?
Jon brushed her face against Sarah’s leg at knee level, and Sarah gave her several loving strokes from her forehead all the way to the tip of her tail, and then said “I’ll see you in a few hours. Can I trust you not to do something brash like using my computer to send an e-mail to your derpy friendzone too-meek-to-be-more-than-friend Karyn to get her to break into my house and help you escape with the rock?”
Jon halted but tried to continue looking like a dumb animal. Actually she didn’t even need to do that if Sarah was actually planning on leaving Jon with the stone when she went to school, Jon could simply escape the building with the stone in her mouth and go to Karyn on foot. She thought Sarah really should realize she could still open and even unlock doors like this. Not that it mattered, she wouldn’t even need Karyn’s help at all actually.
“Oh don’t even pretend you didn’t think of that,” Sarah said. “Look Jon, I know this whole thing was unreasonable of me, but I’d like you to just agree that I won this time so that I don’t really have to keep you like a prisoner. It’s like the prisoner’s dilemma! Have you ever heard of that?”
Jon nodded her head. Maybe Sarah was more of an intellectual than he/she had thought.
“So you’re like a prisoner of war. Which isn’t the same situation even though it involves a prisoner. But the countries are like the prisoners. Now if they could just trust each other to follow the agreement and for prisoners to just act as if they were ‘dead’, to not continue fighting if released and not to give recognizance to their country either, they both would be much better off because they both could just release their prisoners with the understanding that they were out of the conflict. In fact, they wouldn’t even need to fight with weapons, they could fight with nerf guns or something, and then no one needs to die, if you get hit with a nerf foam projectile you’re ‘dead’, you just go home and your government isn’t allowed to draft you again, or ask for intel, you’re completely just out of the war. But because neither side trusts the other not to cheat on that arrangement, they both have to go and ruin it for each other. So I’m asking you to on your honor just agree that you lost and then I can treat you better and give you more freedom if you just promise not to cheat on the arrangement. I stole the rock fair and square, and it’s mine now, and I’ll treat you very well but you’re my pet fox for the next month. Then you’ll be free to go, and maybe I’ll even wish some things for you, we can have some sort of relationship even, but it’s my rock now. Can you promise me that you’ll abide by that? Because otherwise I’ll have to wish for things that are unfortunate and it won’t be so much fun between us.”
Jon nodded. It sounded reasonable.
“All right Jon, I trust you. As my pet, you’re part of my family, and my house is your house. Use my computer, my TV, whatever you want, do you want me to wish up some cat litter for you with my tray from my poor old cat Mr. Katt who is no longer with me, or do you think you can just use a toilet normally despite your size?”
Jon pointed to the bathroom with a paw.
“All right. Here’s an idea,” Sarah said, picking up the stone. “I wish for whatever study materials Jon would need to keep up and ready for school in a month if anything.” Nothing appeared. “Ha, nerd! You’re definitely the smartest fox in the world, you don’t even need to study to be ready for school after being gone for a month. I’ll see you later Jon, don’t mess up my stuff, ok?”
Sarah waved her goodbye and left.
“Well. I guess she’s a good girl after all,” Jon said, in a very doglike or rather foxlike sort of speech impediment, but still intelligibly. “I don’t know everything she wished for, but I guess all I had to do was growl and whine and yip at her a few times, and I think it never actually occurred to her that maybe I could still talk.” She swiped at the stone with her right forepaw and slid it atop the squishy pawpad of her left and precariously held it.
What should Jon do? Should she abide by the agreement? Betray it? Or maybe something in between. Maybe wish for something Sarah wouldn’t have expected that she would like even better than Jon just staying as her pet for a month, like resurrecting her cat? She could also wish for something without escaping and that wouldn’t be cheating. Maybe Jon would like following the rules and being Sarah’s fox? Maybe she didn’t want to betray her trust because it would be nice for them to be friends after the month, even to get her and Karyn on friendly terms. It was pretty nice so far, maybe this was what Jon wanted. Was it actually cheating if she ended it right now though? Did the agreement include not making a wish with her own voice, or just contacting someone else for help anyway? She did agree that she had lost and Sarah had won though, it would be hard to justify it in any way instead of just understanding she was simply breaking a promise. Maybe just wish for some sort of protection clause in case Sarah’s intent really did turn mean-spirited later? Or maybe… just maybe… this was actually a test of Jon honoring her promise, and one of the wishes Sarah made will make it horribly backfire if Jon wishes for anything against Sarah’s plans. Nah, there’s no way Sarah could be that clever.
