Julia was much more interested in school than Jon had been. Not that she spent much time comparing herself to Jon. As the Doc would say...Julia was a superior and well rounded program....and Jon wasn't. She'd already discovered that her Jon memories didn't help very much in most circumstances. She knew who people were...but Jon hadn't known most of them very well. She knew Jon had his flaws, but the only part of it that made her a bit angry was how people in the 'real' world were apparently dumping on him. Not everyone led a wild and crazy life. She had a lot more ambition than he had....although he might have developed some in time.
Neither Karyn nor Sarah was in her first class, so she assumed that the audience wasn't going to notice her, which was fine with her. She could focus on her English class.
"Hi!" A voice said from next to her. A smiling Rebecca Hart was sitting there. "You're new here?"
"How did you guess?" Julia said.
"Because I've never seen you before....and I know everyone. Well, not everyone...but I was looking at you and I said....there's someone who looks new....I mean..."
"Look....slow down..." Julia said.
She blushed. "Sorry...I just get really excited sometimes..."
"Maybe you should switch to decaf or something..." Julia said.
Rebecca laughed. "That's what the people at the senior center say when I volunteer there..."
"Yeah....it's kind of a Dad joke...my Dad loves that kind of humor. Sorry...I'm Julia..."
"I'm Rebecca...everyone calls me Becca...except the teachers...I mean...They call me Rebecca...or sometimes Miss Hart..."
And they thought Karyn would want to hang out with her? Julia thought. Julia, however, had a high degree of empathy for others...especially those with flaws... "I'm still trying to learn the ropes around here," she said, giving the girl an opening. Maybe she could get her to relax a bit.
"I can show you around...I've been going here since Freshman year..."
"That would be great..." Julia said. "So, you're into drama?"
Becca frowned. "How did you know that?"
Shit...I'm not supposed to know that...good that's all I know... She scrambled for an answer...and thankfully found it. "This class is called Dramatic Literature."
"Oh...duh," Becca said, giggling.
