"You know," said Jon as he looked towards Karyn, "we really should think about getting back to my bedroom. The one in my universe. We told Super Smart Jon we'd come back once we dropped off Zoe."
"Do we have to?" Karyn asked.
"We need to help him. We've had a few adventures, discovered this place and got a bit of a rest. I think it might be time to find out what he has to tell us."
"What about the new network?" Karyn asked as she pointed at the DTH. "Can't we go explore it?"
"I don't think it will go anywhere. It seems pretty stable. I'll monitor it for now. If anything interesting happens with it and we have the time later, we can investigate then."
"I suppose so," Karyn said as she slowly got to her feet. She picked up the backpack and slung it over her shoulder.
"Besides, he's got my Zoe about to bash down my bedroom door."
Karyn giggled, "I wouldn't wish that on anyone."
"We'll have to figure out what we're going to do with her," Jon said as he stood up himself. Unconsciously he patted the dust of his jeans.
"You could tell her the truth. Other Zoes seemed to accept the idea."
"Accept is a bit strong. They understood but didn't really want us in their dimensions either. This my own sister, I'm not going to avoid her by hanging out in another spacetime continuum, just to keep her happy."
"Isn't that we've been doing for about the whole last week?" Karyn asked.
In response, Jon shrugged in an indifferent way. "Meh. I guess," he grumbled quietly as he set the controls on the DTH.
"I think you should give her the benefit of the doubt," Karyn said as she held her hand out.
"If it blows up in our face, I'm blaming you," he said as he took Karyn's hand before activating the DTH recall function.
