Felix's nose wrinkled in disgust. "Of course not. They're not even human!" he said as though it was obvious. Byzrel snarled in bondage. Felix said "We should enslave all of them. We can use their powers to gather more mana for ourselves. That would make it easier to advance to the next rank of sorcery." "Using demons for power? That is not what being a wizard is about. That breaks into the realm of warlocks." Alex responded negatively to that course of action. "Well maybe we could be the best of both worlds." Felix said as he gently took the spellbook from him. Alex rolled his eyes, but it was clear that they were friends. "Are we sure that we shouldn't interfere?" I asked them. They still looked very certain that they wanted Byzrel to suffer. "I want that spellbook to learn better magic. We can learn it together too. Can we go get that?" I made my case. Vohrear and Nyrear were into it. I looked at the others. "If there are more traps in the room, I need Ororin to ring the bell. The others can jump in and try to rescue us." I instructed. They nodded. The 3 of us went in the room and became material.

That startled both of them. Nothing happened to us. I lunged for the book and snatched it from Felix. I jumped back and smiled. "We have it." I said. Alex was stunned by our appearance into silence and then was angry. "You guys! How dare you show yourselves here after what you did to me!?" he screamed as he tried to punch us. Felix had to hold him back. "Where the hell did even you come from!?" Felix said while doing his best to restrain his friend from a fight her could not win. "Byzrel told you that we were right outside. You couldn't see us because we were in the Ethereal Plane." "You took your damn time to show yourselves." I just looked at her and smirked. "All of that taunting has come back to bite you. We told you not to underestimate them. I even warned you to look for traps. You have to figure out what to do on your own. Its presence was probably clear. If you did not see it, it's your fault you got caught. You fed on him 4 times in a row. You were greedy. I just wanted the spellbook to learn the new magic." "You traitor!" she snarled at us. "Bye bye." I said. We then went ethereal again.

I had the spellbook. They were wizards, so learning this would give us access to the wizard class. With enough levels in it, we could upgrade into a colored mage class. I knew that from the forums. There were white, red, green and black mages. Vohrear and Nyrear were going to be mages with me. They deserved it after having my back in there. All Byzrel could do was struggle in rage and curse us impotently. I never told her my name. Felix and Alex were caught off guard. "What do we do now?" Felix asked. "Spellbooks are the culmination of a wizards studies of the arcane. It's going to take me weeks to save up for a new grimoire. That's not counting the whole week it will take to write down all the spells I know. Where's yours?" Felix shrugged and said "You're way ahead of me. I have about 3 spells and none of them are that useful right now." Alex groaned. "I told you to write them down during lunch!" he snapped. Felix just shrugged and sighed. "How much does a grimoire cost? Can't you just write it down in any book?" he asked. "Yeah but grimoires don't burn or break as easily." Alex said.
