He grabbed his phone and started down the stairs, followed by Athena. "Maybe you could go out the back door...."
And miss the opportunity to see who her friends were? "I'll just say hi and go..."
He peeked his head to see who was in the living room and saw three other teenage girls sitting there. Athena had been friends with a variety of Goths. But these girls looked more varied. Two of them glared at him, while a third smiled. He didn't recognize any of them.
"You've said hi, now can you get out?" Athena said.
He headed outside, and heard his phone ding. He opened it. There was a message. "I thought you wanted to meet up."
He paused, not sure who it was. "Athena just kicked me out," he wrote. "Where?"
"Coven time again? Outside the library?"
"Sure..." he typed, and started walking. Coven?
