We returned to the village like we were heroes returning from war. Everyone was pretty pissed off that we went against the council. I could look at the writing on the wall and see where this could go. I pulled the triplets off to the side. They looked at me and waited for me to speak. I know they trusted me implicitly. I sighed and said "Listen up kids. There are times that a man has to understand that you need to go along to get along with certain people. I want to give you those words of wisdom. The elder council is the main authority of the Kirume Clan. It is totally their right for them to give all sorts of orders to us. You must do what you can to not anger them any further." It did not look like they understood. "I suggest you go to members of the council and offer to do missions in the village for them." I told them. That was more actionable. All of them nodded at me. They then walked off to go find them in the village. I had to check up on all of the members of the squad. I found Hibiki first. Eri and Sachiko were both genin now. His son was able to get his clan marks, but he was too young to go with them.

Hibiki was riding high. He had 3 children, 2 women, jounin rank, and one of the biggest houses in the villages. He was a proud ninja, friend, husband, man, and father. A literal saint could not expect to be blessed with such good fortune. We spoke for a bit before I moved on. Rin and Asahi were talking together outside of their houses. I went up to them and said hello. They pulled me in a hug and congratulated me for all of my triplets. They had heard the news when they got back to the clan. Their kids all made it through and passed the exam. That was good to hear. I shared the news about Yoru, Asa and Hiru. They did not like the fact that Riku was used at all in the big ceremonies of the clan, but they both knew better and kept it to themselves. That was really good. I asked where I could find Izayoi and Keisuke. That made them a bit sullen. I immediately thought the worse had happened. The pair told me that Harumi and Haruki were not able to come of age. Their mother was not a ninja and thought it was too soon. She freaked out and begged him not to take their innocence away.
Damn. That had to be tough. Izayoi did fancy the farmer's daughter quite a bit. As far as I knew, she was really good to him as well. Ibuki went and became a genin. The broad consensus of the clan was that he should have done it anyway and sent off Haruki and Harumi. He was the father and the jounin clan member here. She was just a concubine. I shook my head. "C'mon. We both know that it was a true love at first sight experience. Izayoi had the kids with her. She will eventually recognize them as adults and the proper ceremonies can take place. I did not have mine until 17." "Yeah. I guess children come in all ages." Rin said as he elbowed me playfully. Asahi just said "I hope she hurries up though. Haruki and Harumi have been training just as hard as anyone else." I then asked about Keisuke. Kei became a genin. He was a kunoichi like his mother. Shirota and Kurota had fallen ill at the exact wrong time. They could not go through with the ceremonies to be marked. They did not go to the exams due to their age. That made me narrow my eyes in anger. There were still kids here.
