It was evening now and Jon had mostly avoided making unintentional wishes. There was one time when he wished class would be over already and the professor just dismissed them early.
He was in his dorm room trying to write an essay for one of his classes. He couldn’t however. Across the street was one of the fraternities which was currently blasting loud music. Jon couldn’t focus at all.
“I kinda wish that I would get invited to at least one of these parties, especially if they are going to be so loud.” Flash. The bracelet flashed.
“Shit.” He had to be more careful especial-
Jon’s phone was buzzing. He didn’t recognize the number but he felt as if he should pick up the phone.
“Is this Jon?” A familiar voice called out over the phone.
“Uh yes. Who is this?”
“It’s Sarah. I think you know who I am-”
“Of course, I know who you are even since you stole-”
“Just listen okay?” Sarah asked. “Some of the people here noticed that you don’t have any friends so we decided to invite you to the party at the fraternity tonight.”
“Seriously, you’re not pranking me?”
“No… Just don’t embarrass us okay? You’re invited but it’s not your party.”
"Did Karyn ask you to do this?"
"No. She wasn't involved in this decision. Just- know that you are invited." The line went dead and Jon just stared down at the phone in his hand and then the bracelet next to it. He needed to be careful with the thing. It hadn’t backfired yet but it very well could.
But… he just got invited to his first college party. Jon slammed his laptop closed, through on some decent clothes, and headed to the party.
