With so many things to do, there was no reason not to try it out. I followed them outside to where their team was gathering. Besides them, there were 14 more members. I saw them as they arrived. The coach was a dark haired man and he looked at me. "Who is your friend here?" he asked the triplets. They told them about me. I said "I wanted to try out for the team." He rubbed his chin. "Alright. We will see how well you can do then. I want to see you in a 100 meter dash." he said. I walked over to their starting line. The counted me down and I got running. I was indeed a bit faster than I would be in real life. I finished it in 11.5 seconds. The coach timed me with a yellow stopwatch. I saw him nod and said "That was pretty good for a first try." I smiled and said "Can I join the team? I think I would do good here." He nodded and said "I'll put your name down. I'm Coach Wom." That was good with me. I got some exp. for the time and joining the team. It was time for us to warm up. Usually, that involved them running at a good pace to the park. From there, they did exercise. It was good to explore.
He had a meter stick and measured out 100 meters to practice out sprints. We were able to do them with ease. Our team spanned from Freshmen to Seniors. All of us on the team were in a big field. Coach Wom gave us some javelins, discs and hammers to toss around. "Here. Try you best to throw them as best as you can. Make sure you keep track of where they land. You lose it, you buy it." he instructed. The coach then demonstrated the form for each of them. The seniors went first. They seemed to have the form down. The triplets and one of the other juniors all had it as well. It was then my turn. I was fine with the javelin. I had some experience in throwing spears in battle. The discs and hammers required spinning to gather the force needed to send it flying. Even then you had to time the release so it did not go wide and lose any of the distance. I was much less effective at doing that. Next were the Sophomores and the Freshmen. They did a bit worse than the upperclassmen. I was still really impressed. That was the end of practice. We collected our things and then jogged back.
Once we were back, the team said their goodbyes in the locker room before leaving. I was able to talk to the triplets on their way home. They were all looking forward to the upcoming track meet. I asked if they would like to go pro one day. They looked at me like I was crazy for asking. "You can't be a pro here." Oliver said. Paul nodded and added. "Who on the island is going to want to pay to see guys run fast?" "That stuff gets really old after middle school." Noel ended. I said "I mean not now, but what about after school is over. We can leave the island and compete." "We cant. After school is over we have the fertility festival." Noel said, groaning. "I forgot. Tell me more about it." I told them simply. Oliver said "Everyone who hasn't gotten pregnant by the end of high school has to go through it. Usually a cousin or uncle will come and take your first time. If not, you become part of the parade through the island." Paul picked up from there. "The island leaders lead the parade to the temple. The best looking, the strongest and the smartest of each corner will drink sacred wine to fuck them."
That sounded crazy and I wanted nothing to do with that. "That sounds like a really crazy time. I don't know if I want to do all that. Having a kid is painful, right?" I tossed out there. I did not want to make enemies out of them. If I could stay on their good side, that would be for the best. Oliver just shrugged and said "Of course it's going to hurt. They are going to shove a dick up your ass." "Then a baby is going to come out of it later on." Noel added. "But we're all boys here! We can take it." was what Paul contributed to the conversation. "I have a dream to be the best runner in the world. I want to get really rich and famous. Kids can come later." I said. They began to think on it for a bit. That was all I could really do at the moment. It was not like we were close friends or anything. We had only just met today. After they got home, it was time for me to find a place to stay. I could also buy a home. I had a good amount of starting money. There was a small house in the slums that I could buy. It was not like I needed to eat or anything. That just let me heal. If I was not injured, there was no point.
