Sarah surveyed the rest of the room once again, then returned her gaze to the red stone and sighed. "I wish everything in this room was as pretty as this stone."

Sarah felt the need to close her eyes for a moment, and when she opened them...

Well, the room was still a mess, but it was somehow a prettier mess? The tan carpet had turned a light gray. The navy bedsheets had turned a pastel blue. There were still clothes on the floor, but... they were girl's clothes?

What had happened? The room had all of a sudden changed to become... kind of pretty.

Just like the stone.

Sarah looked at the object she was holding in awe. She had wished everything in the room would be as pretty as the stone, and it was: the stone wasn't a diamond or a ruby, but it also wasn't ugly. It was... above average. So the room had become "above average" pretty, just like Sarah had wished. Sarah took a hard, long look at the stone in her hand before noticing something else. Her hand.

She'd gotten her nails professionally manicured, like she always did, just the day before, but now it looked like some teenager had just applied store-bought nail polish. It was the same shade, and it still looked nice, but it only looked nice, not beautiful like Sarah was used to.

Her heart stopped a moment. If everything in the room was as pretty as the stone, like her wish, and if she was in the room...

"I wish I had a mirror," Sarah cried out in desperation. And somehow, a mirror appeared on the wall to replace a Squirrel Girl poster which had only recently replaced a Deadpool poster.

"What the fuck?" Sarah gasped. "WHAT THE FUCK!?"

It wasn't her face in the mirror.

It was a plain girl, no makeup, no frills. Her hair had dulled from a golden blonde to a managed-but-not-styled light brown. Her clothes had changed into a regular fitted tee and a... mostly-fitted pair of jeans. They weren't sweaty anymore, at the very least.

But her face. It was just a different face altogether. There was a corkboard above the desk with pictures pinned to it. In one picture, Sarah saw a family. The boy who had answered the door was in it, and Jon's sister Zoe. The two adults must have been Jon's parents. And the fifth person in the photograph, fitting perfectly in with the other four, was the girl who had just stared Sarah back from the mirror.

"What the fuck," she whispered once again.
