Looking at them made me upset. "01! You can't seriously think that doing this is being good to them. You should be protecting them and making them part of the clan." I said. 01 just shrugged at me. "I don't know about that. We take care of them. They can't keep up with us and they do not have the intellectual capacity our offspring have when they spawn. They can't talk and barely walk." he said. "If they have no value to you, just give them to me." I said in response. He smirked. "No way. You have to ask our Leader. I don't think that " he said mockingly. "Hey, what's that over there!?" I said pointing to a random spot behind him. He blinked and sighed really deeply. 01 then put a hand on my shoulder. "I am going to humor you and actually turn around because I actually like you Brianne. If there isn't anything there, I'm going to beat you up." he said. That was worth a shot. I shrugged and said "It's gone now. Don't even bother with it slowpoke." I said, rolling my eyes dismissively. 01 closed his eyes. "You seem to want to annoy us today." he said. I backed up. "I'm really not. I just want my kids."
01 opened his eyes again. I just looked at him and said "C'mon. Please take me to your leader then. I want to get this over with." 01 did a clapping motion and all three of the hybrid children hid out of sight. 01 took me by the hand and said "Let's go." I nodded and followed him. He took me down into their clan building. Luckily, there leader was in the main hall giving orders to the random PEA units in his vicinity. 01 and I approached. "Brianne wants to take his half breeds." 01 announced. The leader had his back to us. "He does, huh? Tell him that he can only have one. The others in the alley are all ours." he said. I just frowned at him. "Why do you even want them when they can't join the clan? I'm here to take them off your hands." I said. He turned and said "I know. You don't get what you want. We never wanted to produce all these half breeds in the first place. That was on you." So this was all just an exercise in spite. I was not going to get anywhere talking to them. The question was whether or not I was willing to break the alliance to steal them. The answer was no. I could take one now.
That was all I was going to get from them. I looked at 01 and said "Fine. Please take me back over to them. I'll pick one and leave." 01 nodded and took my hand again. I let him lead me. It simply would not make sense to make a fuss at this point. He brought me to the alley and summoned them again. It was a little creepy seeing that to be perfectly honest. I took the one with the green eyes and slicker hair. 01 brought him over and said "This one is the one you want? Not the one with the most humanity in them? That is not what I expected." I looked at him and said "Of course not. You can't understand me as long as you have that Conqueror mindset. It's also why you won't get to see my other kids." 01 sucked his teeth. "Blaming me for not being a dumb as an Advocate makes no sense. It's not like I would hurt them." he said. "You had three of them in your care and you can't even bring the smallest bit of compassion inside you to try educating them or giving them shelter in the clan building. That's the reason I told you that you guys are unable to protect anyone out your clan." I told him.
