I looked at 03 and said "I am here. Has 04 had the babies yet?" This was the question I wanted to have asked the female PEA unit. 03 nodded and said "Yeah. The clan was there in solidarity. 04 had the half breed offspring in the main hall already. It looked pretty painful and gross. But they were fine in the end." I said "I want to see them." 03 crinkled his nose. "Eww. I just told you it was gross. They have a mixture of both nanites and blood and flesh in their bodies. How are you going to not throw up when you see them?" he said. I looked at 03 and said "I really want to see them. Take me there 03. Please." 03 sucked his teeth and took me by that arm. We then left the gym from one of the side doors. Now that we were in a side alley between the gym and another building. "Why are we out here?" I asked him. 03 said "We can't have half breeds in the clan. They are gross!" I glared at him. That made me really upset. I looked around for them, but did not see them at all. I looked at 03. "I'm getting really angry 03. Where are my kids!?" I asked him. 03 just shrugged and then clapped his hands.
That was when three creatures came over to us. They did look a bit uncanny to me. It was still not a reason to abandon them to the elements. I gathered them together and looked at them. "What do they do? I don't get it." I said to 03. He pointed at them and said "Like I said, they are half breeds. Their glowing parts are nanites. The rest is human flesh." "Do they have chest ports or AEP organs." 03 just looked at me. "Of course they do. You weren't the only involve in making these half breeds. They just have lots of human parts to them." he said. "They seem to not have much in terms of the nanites." I observed. 03 looked disappointed. "It seems like it is just enough for one AEP organ and maybe one weapon upgrade." he explained. "Did you give them their upgrades?" I asked. He looked shocked. 03 said "No way Brianne! They're not in the clan like us. That's why they are outside. We feed them human food and let them relax here." That was the last straw. "They you won't mind me taking them with me to my clan then." I snapped. 03 got in the way. "You can't! We're taking care of them."
Getting past a focused and agitated 03 would be hard. I could beat him up and just take them. He would probably alert the rest of his clan before I could do that though. I was best served by reasoning with him. "03. What do the children here mean to you? Personally." I asked him. He blinked in confusion. It looked like he was caught a bit off guard. Not enough to rush past him with the kids though. "Half breeds like these don't mean anything to me. I might think they are interesting because you are their biological father, but that's it." he answered. "What do they mean to the clan?" was the next question. "Nothing. We don't let them join because they are stupid and don't do anything other than eat and rest. They definitely can't join the clan. The only reason we keep them is so the humans don't get them and try to learn more about us." 03 said. "Why can't you let them join the clan and teach them what they need to know?" I asked. 03 looked disgusted. "Look at them! They are gross! Why should we waste time on them when we can be breeding pure bred units in the clan?" he told me seriously.
