I was running circles around him before I went in for some mean punches. 10-007 was not fast enough to catch me with the toxic sludge. When I got in closer, the angry cyborg was able to get me, but not before I did massive damage to his body. I jumped back and began to heal myself. He smartly charged after me and began trying some punches and kicks of his own. I did not get to heal much and I was not used to dodging melee attacks. 10-007 got me good there. I could at least admit that. "See that!? Not so tough without your abilities, are you? I won't let you do them." he said. Playtime was over. I took out my rifle and began shooting at him. He used his armor plating to tank most of it. He smiled at me with a smug look on his face when I stopped firing at him. "Human weapons will never beat an AEP unit. Die!!" he screamed as he shot more sludge at me. 10-007 was getting way too cocky now. It was definitely time to kill him. I used more magic. He tried to stop me, but I had good speed and faster cast times. It was much too fast for 10-007. Even with armor, he was taking damage.
He collapsed after he got hit with a seventh pillar of flame. 10-007 was done for. I walked up to him slowly while I pulled out a shotgun that used incendiary shells. I really wanted to make this messy. He tried crawling away, but I was right there. The Toxic AEP unit did not have the strength or energy to escape. He looked genuinely scared of me now. "How is this possible!? A human like you should not be able to exist! Stay away!" he screamed in pure terror. That was not going to stop me. I pointed the big shotgun directly in his face and said "You suck and all of your clan is going to die here along with you." I then pulled the trigger. His head exploded and 10-007 was dead as a doorknob. The humans were not doing so well. Marion had gotten clipped and was bleeding out. Nancy was trying to stop the bleeding. I ran over and leapt behind cover with them. A hail of large toxic projectiles from one of the giant X-frames just missed me by a hair. I probably would have gone down to critical if that hit me head on. Very lucky of me. He was dying quick. I could heal him with magic as he was a human.
Marion was good to go and I said "You have to be careful. These guys are no joke." Nancy looked dumbfounded. I snapped my fingers right in front of her face to get her to focus. "Nancy? Nancy! Look alive!" I yelled. She just blinked and began looking all around her. "How did you do that!?" she asked. "We don't have time. You two have to get a grip. Where the hell is Terrance?" I asked. They pointed to one of the large marble pillars in the lobby. He was poking his head out and taking some pot shots at the X-frames and enemy AEP units. He was doing way more ducking behind the pillar than fighting. To be fair to him, he was totally out matched and out gunned here. It was pretty brave of Terrance to do. "Hold on, I am going to get him before he gets melted out there. Stay put." I said. I ran out with my rifle. One of the toxic AEPs were sneaking up on him. I kicked that one in the back and shot it as it stumbled forward. It raised its armor quickly so only the first few shots made it through its defenses. As she turned to me, Terrance stepped out and shot it point blank in the neck. She fell down.
Terrance wasted no time double tapping her in the head to end it. I was going to high five him when I saw more sludge coming our way. I tackled him to the ground and I rolled off of him as quickly as possible. The jet of sludge went passed us. We both scrambled behind the pillar. I looked at Terrance. "How are we feeling?" I asked. He was panting really heavily. "Tired and wired to shit. I got a kill on one of those fucking AEP bitches, so I'm good." he joked with a slight chuckle at the end. "Good." I said as I poked my head out. I got a face full of sludge. It stung and blinded me as it got everywhere. "Fuck! An X-frame is coming!" I yelled as I desperately tried to spit it out and wipe my face with my arms. "Geez!" I heard him grumble. I could not see a thing, but I could still hear everything. He pulled me back behind the pillar. "Brianne! Get it together man! You can't fight these cyborgs blind!" he snapped. He did sound concerned though. It burned even as I healed myself using magic. "Don't get hit by the sludge. It will melt you." I said when I could finally blink my eyes open. "Trust me. I will try."
