They had not been able to see what was beyond this continent. No one here had gone through the preconditions to start an expedition. I told them to calm down "It really isn't all that important. All that matters is that we hold this area. We haven't seen all the AEP units for the clan. From what I know it takes at least three of them to flip the transmission hub. Until we can confirm they died, the mission isn't complete yet." I said to them. All of them nodded their heads in agreement. It was time to go back up to the surface. We also made sure to cover our tracks by pulling the steps back where they were when we first found them. The agreement was that the police would not blow it up if we promised to leave the bank building empty. We could always go back on this promise later. How would they know if we slipped a couple of units into the new staff roster? Right now, all we needed was to flip the hub. It was under Advocate control and they now had four hubs. The Researchers also had four. If Water Clan fell, we would have five hubs. That would give us the nine hubs needed to start a coalition.
Like I had thought we had not seen everything yet. The police officers we came in with were all dead. There was a broken X-frame on the ground. Another two were fully operational and turned towards us. They were not about to give up. I also saw four more AEP units in the lobby taking on the PEP units that had since switched sides. In my opinion, this was a bloodbath. Red and blue blood soaked the once pristine floors and splattered the white walls. I told Terrance, Marion and Nancy to take cover. It was not a good time for them to be out in the open. Obviously our deal with the investigators only worked if the investigators were still alive. They nodded and made sure to reload as the hind under the desks for the teller's booths. Timmy, Tammy, Tommy, Temmy and I left the gate and joined the fray. The Sonic AEPs wasted no time. They were blasting the X-frames with their plasma cannons and taking shots at the enemy AEP units with their built in units. My focus was a particular one. "10-007! I know you are still alive. Come and fight me one on one!" I challenged. One of them turned to me.
10-007 had indeed changed his appearance to dodge the police's investigation. He glared and said "This is perfect. I made sure to claim you before hand. All this does is makes things easier for me." I just looked at him. He did not have what it takes to beat me and I knew that. It would still be fun to destroy his confidence anyway. There was something about smacking around Conqueror cyborgs that made things so much better in combat. He charged at me, but I dodged it and slapped him in the face. It was cheap, but that was okay with me. I did not respect him and I really wanted him to know that fact. That made him even angrier than he had been before. He raised his palms and I knew what was coming next. Hot, toxic sludge shot out in a pair of streams toward me. I had to dodge if I did not want to get dirty. While I could tank and heal the damage, there was no point in getting hurt when I did not need to. I made a pillar of fire come down from the ceiling followed up several spikes made out of pure light. He dodged the fire and all but one of the spikes. 10-007 was very shocked by the hit.
