It had been nearly an hour since Myka and Steve had their sexual encounter in the janitor's closet at the high school, and in that time, several people affected by the clothing chain phenomenon had continued to change, now living much different lives.

Tara Sanders came by her fiancé Roger Ferguson's house (she didn't live there, obviously, as she adhered to the tradition of not living with her significant other until after they were married), Agatha Pierce in tow. Ever since she met the young woman at the church, she sought out to help her, as she seemed quite distraught. She needed a home and a family, and fortunately for her, Tara knew the perfect place for her - the Ferguson house.
Walking into the house, they nearly bumped into Tara's stepdaughter-to-be Jaya. Unlike a lot of others who "took on" the identity of someone of the opposite gender, Laura had not transformed into a boy, but had rather taken on Jay Duncan's uber-nerdiness instead, looking quite androgynous now with a boyish haircut and less curves, but she was still female nonetheless. While she wasn't the atheist that Tara feared she could be (in a previous evolving reality that hadn't existed for a while), she was firmly a deist, devoting her life to science and not religion. It was one of the main reasons why Roger wanted to marry Tara as soon as possible. He wanted her to move in and be a much more 24/7 influence on Roger's daughter. Of course, as bad a Jaya's situation was, Roger had other family that was possibly worse. Tara's presence in his family could only be a good thing, a positive thing, helping his family get back on the right path.
"Sorry, Tara," the 17-year old nerd said, adjusting her glasses. "I'm right in the middle of an experiment that requires my full attention." She then disappeared into the basement, which served as her personal lab. She was quite smart, Tara gave her that, but she so wished that she could find time for something other than her science experiments. She wasn't so naive to think that she would just relent and join them at church, but she could at least try to make more friends at school. The thing was, she was quite passionate about science, even admonishing others who didn't see things her way. Very in-your-face. Not exactly a good way to win others over, but maybe with Tara in her life, in a more permanent capacity, Jaya could become a better, more caring person.
"Don't mind her. She's a work-in-progress," Tara said, then led Agatha on a tour of the house. She was now 18-years old and almost complete with her changes into a recently converted Baptist. Her backstory now was that not too long ago, she was a rebellious teen that had run away from home, but after hitting rock bottom, she had found Tara's church and had chosen to make drastic changes to her life, with Tara as her guide and confidant. Tara knew that the teen needed a permanent place to live, so she made arrangements with Roger to have her live here. Tara had already helped this girl change her life around, which gave her hope that she could do the same with Jaya.

At the high school, the other member of the Ferguson family (Nadine) was quite a bit different as well. Like her former mother Laura, from a previous distant reality, she was also not heading in the direction of becoming male, but rather a fairly masculine woman. Over the remaining time of the school day, she had gained another 10 years, launching her into her early 40's, slightly older than her former father Roger, who was now her younger brother. She walked down the hall towards the main office, having some paper work to complete before heading home, to her apartment. She was now dressed in a suit and tie, tailored to fit her female body. Her hair was short and she wore very little make-up. Nadine's passion for helping students see the error of their ways had evolved during her ongoing transformation, moving away from using religion as her basis for making change, to using the injustices of society, to eventually being a supporter of liberal movements that the original version of her would frown on, if not outright oppose. Given her growing masculinity, her changes pushed her down a path that caused her to become a somewhat butch lesbian, who devoted her free time to supporting LGBTQ+ causes and help those within the school who were struggling with these issues to see that they were supported and loved. She wanted to make Lake Point High School a beacon of hope for all students, especially those like her, and as assistant principal, she'd make sure that it happened.
Yeah, she ended up being the new assistant principal. But it wasn't because of a decision made by Principal Margot Smith ... not really. Because Nadine had already been the assistant principal for years now, hoping to replace Margot when she retired.
Her younger brother Roger saw her as the black sheep in the family. After all, the majority of the Fergusons were Baptists, so to have a sister who was an openly proud lesbian was a scar on his otherwise perfect life. Well, other than his daughter Jaya. But he hoped that marrying Tara would fix that. Maybe Tara could even sway Nadine away from her deviant ways. How someone like that could become the assistant principal of a high school, he had no idea. What the was the world coming to these days?

26-year old Thea Duncan (formerly Jay) stood at the balcony looking over The Spiked Pit, the club that she managed, looking quite beautiful in her gothic dress. It was still too early to open, but now that it was mid-afternoon, she'd have to prepare for that evening's crowd of customers. She, of course, didn't have to do that alone, as her two closest friends were there to help - Grace "Grave" Littleton and Simon Davison (who was still transforming into the punk Goth woman he was now destined to be), looking quite a bit more female than male. Having help was a good thing, especially right now, because Thea was still committed to her investigation into whatever happened earlier, when she had apparently blacked out and found herself somewhere else. The same thing happened to Grave and Simon, from what they told her, so it was very concerning indeed.

As Karyn walked through the school, she thought about how fortunate she was to have a career path for herself. She always wanted to be a teacher and now it was actually happening. She was doing something with her life ... unlike her 28-year old sister Bethany. She frowned at the thought of her. Unlike Karyn, Bethany had chosen a less than admirable path in life by becoming a cam-girl. She even ran her own website, doing it straight out of the house that both she and Karyn shared. Ugh.

Officer Sandra Weaver, having been contacted by Principal Margot Smith earlier, finally arrived at the Gibson house to take Myka's statement about the sexual assault, not realizing that Myka just wanted to forget that any of it happened and just get back to her life, not because she was in denial, but because she just didn't think it was that big of a deal.
There was a knock on the door.
"Gena, could you get that please?" Lanie said.
"Ugh," Gena groaned, then dropped her last slice of pizza on her plate and headed to the door, expecting it to be Billy, as he was expected. But what she didn't expect to see was an attractive female cop standing outside instead.
