On the menu for the App, the only box checked was "Maternal Relationship." Of all the options to have picked, John knew that Kathy didn't get along well with her mother. She seldom talked about it, but from what he knew she was extremely traditional and objected her getting such a high education. Apparently she lead a rather sheltered life early on, although one wouldn't know it seeing Kathy nowadays.
If the exchange went through, not only would these views and experiences be copied onto the user, but their entire self would become molded around these experiences thanks to that aspect.
