Genie hoped that her new master would show compassion for her, but her explanation of her predicament only seemed to enrage Olivia. She thought that given her religion, she'd be forgiving, but Olivia had a great hatred for evil. And a powerful magician? Yeah, that was pretty evil, in Olivia's mind. So why wouldn't she be upset about this?
