Early the next morning, Sarah and Mikey gathered in her room. She once again gathered the ingredients for a spell.
"Zoe wasn't into this sort of stuff...I wonder why you are," Mikey said. Zoe's friend was though.
"I guess everyone isn't like the people they replaced...." Sarah said.
"We're looking for Jon..." Sarah reminded him. "It's a pretty common name. And he could be anywhere." She assembled what looked like a homemade compass..a small object floating inside a sealed container of liquid.
Elsewhere, Jon...now Janine Warren finished her jog and walked into the shower. She had lost the ability to be called male sometime the previous evening and now looked every bit the 20-something teacher she was supposed to be. Just as she was about to step into the shower...Sarah cast the spell, and she froze and turned, a blank look on her face. The original spell was active again.
The compass needle spun around and finally started detecting something, and Sarah and Mikey began to follow it.
