Jonatha couldn’t concentrate. He kept thinking about Nicole and their date on Friday night. The more that he thought about it the more excited he got. By the time he had sat down in English class he was already picturing Nicole standing on his front porch wearing a nice suit and handing him some flowers.
Jonatha sighed dreamily.
“Mstr Gibson!” The teacher called out suddenly. Jonatha nearly jumped out of his seat causing Brandi, who was sitting next to him, to giggle.
Jonatha looked up and saw that the teacher was looking at him with the class register in his hand.
“Oh…Um, Here.” He said blushing a little. Mstr Salem looked at him sternly for a few moments before moving on.
“So,” Brandi whispered to Jon, leaning in, “Who’s the girl?”
Jonatha blushed again.
“What!?” He asked. “What do you mean?”
“Oh come on boyfriend,” Brandi said playfully pushing Jonatha on the shoulder. “I recognise the look a boy has when he’s in love.” He nodded towards Keitha. “I had the same look when I saw Keitha.”
Keitha at the mention of his name looked over and Brandi filled him in. He nodded as well.
“So…” Brandi repeated pushing for answers. “Who is it?”
Jonatha looked around to make sure no one was listening before replying.
“Nicole.” He whispered. Brandi squealed loudly causing everyone to look at him.
“Mstr Brittain!” Mstr Salem called out angrily. “We’ll have no more gossiping from you boys.” He said looking over at the three of them.
