Zoe was distracted as she walked up her driveway. More and more it felt like she and her friends were aimless. There weren't any other goths in the school, and while it was fun to figure out your own thing, it was also tiring, and sometimes you just want someone to tell you how to be a good goth. Not all the time. But sometimes.
If only there was someone in the higher grades who was as into goth stuff as her friends Athena and Zelda.
Then she opened her front door, and she bumped into someone, and she saw some object fly into the air. Zoe's instincts kicked in and she caught it: a salt shaker. But in catching it, some of the salt was released, and fell on the person standing in the doorway.
For a moment, Zoe thought it was Jon's friend Karyn, but as Zoe collected herself, she could see that this person looked nothing like Karyn did. She wore an elegant black dress, had straight, natural hair that came all the way down to her waist. She had on black lipstick and four cartilage earrings on her left ear.
"Zoe!" the woman said with a smile, "I've been waiting. I found something really neat I need to show you. Where did I put it? It looks like a salt shaker."
"This?" Zoe held up the Salt of Desire.
"Yes! Give it here, I'll show you how it works in your room."
Zoe was confused, but followed anyway. She had no idea who this person was, but it seemed like she was exactly what Zoe had been hoping for. An older goth to give her guidance.
