Now that he had some energy, it was time to fix him. I held him as the corrupted organs were slowly and painfully expelled from his body. They all fell to the floor with a wet splat sound. Brown ooze was leaking from them. I was curious and looked closer by crouching over it. I knew better than to touch it. His eyes were also on the floor near the door. The former organs were rusted and thick streaks of the red corruption were present. I gave him the sonic organ first. I hoped he would be able to do it. If it did not work, I honestly had no clue what else we could do for him. He took the sonic organ and pressed it against his chest. It certainly looked painful as he slowly pressed it in him. He was full made of nanites, so they did not give him too much pushback. However, I was sure that 01 or 03 could both do it with half the time it was taking 02. When it was fully inside, he sighed in relief. He still had to connect his nanites to the organ to make it operational. The hardest part was behind us though. I pat him on the back encouragingly. He glared and said "Watch it. My nanites are not sturdy."

Apologizing, I took a step back to let him work. Brett may have killed the ooze that was being a parasite in 02's body, but the lasting damage was clearly done. I was not even doing it hard, but it almost broke his concentration on the crucial few nanites he could spare to connect the organ. It took him 10 minutes to connect. I saw the speaker box emerge from his chest. He fired a small blast of sonic waves and then let it recede. "The new organ is operating at 89%. Much better than I could have expected at this rate." he said with a smile. "Alright. We need to up that nanite count you have. How will we go about doing that?" I asked him. He looked at me. "I can probably generate more with more energy and time. However, I fear that they will be the same corrupted nanites I have in my body." he said. That would really not get us anywhere. I asked "Are there any non-corrupted ones you can focus on replicating first?" He had to run another diagnostic on himself. "Over 83% of my nanites are still corrupted. Of the not corrupted, 15% are being used to keep my organ and eyes functional."

That did not sound too good. There were only 2% of his nanites that he could use. I gave him another energy cube to top off his strength. Once that was done, he got to work on healing himself. It took all of his energy to directly target those nanites with the replication directive. 02 fell to the floor. While he had been doing that, I ran back upstairs to get the better energy generators. I turned it on so he could report his progress to me. "This is not practical on scale. Even focusing on my non corrupted nanites was not enough. Some of the corrupted nanites began to replicate against my direction. And they replicated more that the non corrupted ones." he told me. I had to think of something else. I told him to hang tight while I did some research on this. Once again, he tried to leave the room with me. I had to stop in the small doorway and look at him. He stopped, but did not step back. I gave him a gentle shove. He gave me a puppy dog look. It did not move me at all. I closed the door on him. 02 was still not well by a long shot. We were all going to do our best. I would do it hell or high water.
