After they were gone and had shut the the door behind them I turned to Damian and smiled. He smiled back and blushed again in that uniquely cute way only he could. We didn’t say anything, just sat there enjoying each other’s smile when suddenly my father called up again.

“Jon, you’ve got another visitor.”

“Thanks dad,” I called back and then to Damian said “Wonder who that can be?” He shrugged and we sat watching the door. “Come in,” I called when there came a knock at my door.

Rin-kun entered, smiling at me “Hello Jon-kun. Oh, hello Derek; I hope you’re feeling better now after everything that happened this morning.” His eyes flicked to our entwined hands and the corners of his mouth curled up.

“Y-yes thank you Hitashi-Sensei,” stammered Damian, still blushing. He turned to me and said “I should probably get going now. I’m really glad that you’re okay.” He swallowed and added “S-see you tomorrow after school?”

I nodded and smiled at him and as he started to stand I reached out and cupped his cheek in my hand, drawing his head down so I could lean forwards and kiss him on the cheek. He turned redder than ever, but his grin stretched from ear to ear and it was probably the happiest I’d ever seen him. Giving me a kiss back, he bowed to Rin-kun and left.

When he was gone, Rin-kun turned to me with a wry smile on his lips. “My you work fast,” he chuckled, taking a seat.

“What do you mean?” I blushed.

“One day as a kemoman and you already have a boyfriend.”

“He’s not...it’s just one...he’s just...” I spluttered, then shook my head and laughed “Yeah I guess he is. At least I hope he will be. Tomorrow’s the first date...”

“Well good luck with that little brother.”

“Thanks,” I smiled, “Any tips?”

“Hmm,” mused Rin-kun “I could offer food allergy advice, but I don’t know if he has any off the top of my head, and even if I did that’d be an ethics violation as a doctor, so can’t help there. I’d say take it slow, just go for a coffee or a nice meal. Don’t go anywhere cheap like McDonalds but don’t go somewhere expensive either. Hmm, make sure you’re firm with him when it comes to physical contact. He doesn’t seem the sort of lad to force himself on you, he’s far too kind for that, but your pheremones will cloud his judgement somewhat.”

I nodded, taking that all in. “Anything else?”

“Hmm that’s all I can think of for now.”

“Thanks, err, big bro,” I was a bit uncertain if that was right or appropriate to call him that, but considering he’d addressed me as ‘little brother’ I thought that it was probably a safe bet. His smile told me it was.

“Now, other than the fluttering heart, how are you feeling?” He asked, growing more serious.

I shrugged my shoulders. “Few aches here and there but otherwise okay.”

“Are you okay for me to do a quick check-up? I’ve cleared it with your parents, so it’s entirely your choice.”

“Fine by me,” I nodded, getting out of bed with a slight wince. Rin-mum frowned at that but stayed quiet. Carefully he checked me over, probing for broken bones and as he pressed on my side I winced again.

“Roll up your shirt please,” He asked and I obeyed. “Hmm some bruising here, does this hurt?” I yelped as he pressed on the sore spot. “Hmm, looks like standard bruising. No internal bleeding, so should go down in a few days. You can pull your shirt down now and sit back down. I’m happy with your progress.”

“That’s good,” I smiled, sitting down and rubbing my tail nub.

“So, any questions about being a kemoman?”
