“Any news?” Mikey asked after he saw his brother enter the kitchen. Jon shook his head.
“Zoe said that she was crammed at work.” Jon told him as he watched Roger and Linda do the dishes. “It sounds like she won’t be home anytime soon.” He finished.
“That poor girl.” Mikey said, shaking his head. “I hope that the company will be paying Zoe overtime for this.”
Jon nodded while he tried to come to terms with the situation.
Mikey, seeing that Jon was distracted, suggested that both Roger and Linda should get on with their homework. Mikey followed Linda up to help her with hers.
Jon blinked. Mikey was acting a lot more mature now. He wondered if his wish had affected him somehow.
Shaking his head, Jon headed in to the living room and absentmindedly switched the TV on to the news channel.
