Jon double checked the address. This was the place, but why would someone who lived in this nice a house not go to a private school? He gave a shrug and pressed the buzzer on the gate; after all, the McMillan’s were well off and Sarah went to his school, and her younger sister Sally went to Mikey’s. He jumped, broken out of his revert by the sound of a buzzer and then the gates started to slide open. He glanced up the long drive and saw a waving figure standing in the doorway, so he waved back and set off up the drive.
“Hey Jon,” smiled Damian as he approached.
“Hi,” he replied, “So umm...nice place.”
“Thanks,” blushed Damian “It’s my parent’s but they’re not home much so it’s a bit big for me really.” He rubbed the back of his head and smiled nervously.
“Wow, are they highflying business people?”
“Erm, my dad is sorta; he runs Lettman Pharmaceuticals& Bio-Research. Heard of it?”
“Yeah. My dad’s firm was bought out by them recently. He’s just a researcher but he got a big fat raise out of it.”
“That’s good to hear.”
“What about your mother?”
Damian flinched. “My mom died when I was little. My step-mom is a model.”
“Don’t like her I take it?”
He nodded “And it’s mutual. She’d have shipped me off to boarding school if my dad wasn’t so insistent on me getting a state education - he’s a self made man and thinks me experiencing a more normal education will build character.”
“Sorry to hear that.”
“Thanks man,” Damian smiled and stepped aside to let him in. “Umm, so what you’re here for...umm...how do you want to start?”
Jon shrugged. “This is my first time also.” He licked his lips wondering if he should pull out the collar and how he’d explain the tag.
