Zoe was with her friends, Athena, Stephanie, Zelda and Trinity, the older girls were talking about how one of their classmates had been selected for an experiment which would help Trinity become the girl she knew she really was.
Trinity was luckier than most, her parents were both liberal and fairly wealthy, so when their 11 year old son insisted he was their daughter they took him seriously and took their child to a properly accredited gender therapist, through many months of therapy it was determined that Trevor really was transgender and it was recommended they put her on what were popularly referred to as puberty blockers until a properly balanced HRT package could be agreed, lucky Trevor, now going by Trinity, never had to go through male puberty and so was able to retain a more androgynous appearance, she could pass, for a tall, slender girl of modest but clearly feminine proportions, with her long purple hair , carefully applied Gothic make up and pretty face most people had just accepted her as a girl, but Trinity felt incomplete, she needed to wait another few months before she could get the Gender confirming surgery and even then, she would never be a mother, regardless, she had found a group that accepted her completely, she had even scored a beautiful lesbian girlfriend in Stephanie, Stephanie Szedovic was by any measure a real eccentric, kooky, mysterious and kind of hot in a Gothic Princess way, she loved Trinity, not caring that her girlfriend was trans, but now, the Outlier crowd were discussing the good news, and Zoe , who as a Junior was not in their classes was as yet unaware that the recipient of this process was none other than her dear elder brother, Athena was just finished breaking this news to her when they spotted the Cheer leaders approaching, normally the two groups remained coolly indifferent to each other but today there was an addition to the usual crowd, a second Sarah, resplendent in her Cheer leader uniform, the girl was animated and chatting away, however she froze when she spotted Zoe and the others,Zoe stared back.
Sarah Jane had been enjoying talking to her new friends, the Cheer girls were pretty nice all things considered none of them were the vapid dummies that you would expect, and Sarah-Jane was enjoying discussing their English assignment with Amber Levine when she spotted her sister, she froze, terrified that Zoe would make fun of her or hate her now she was part of the Popular crowd and a girl, however, what she did not expect was the squeals of delight as Zoe rushed forward and literally glomped Sarah-Jane, the younger girl chattered excitedly, hugging the older girl and whispering in her ear about how happy she was for her sister, how much she looked forward to when they could have sister bonding time and also a promise to help her out if she had any questions, as surprising as that was, the hugs she then received from Stephanie , tearfully thanking her in both Czech and English and an equally tearful Trinity hugging her and whispering in her ear " Thank you sister, well, all Sarah-Jane could do was quietly whisper back to Trinity " Trans Pride sister" back at her, Sarah-Jane was overwhelmed by the emotions she was feeling, every one seemed to just accept her! She had never seen Zoe so giddy and happy, she had suspected that Zoe felt outnumbered as the only girl in the trio of siblings, so Sarah-Jane realised that , when, not if, she accepted the offer to become her true female self in a month, she was going to have to re-evaluate her relationship with Zoe, Heck! Why wait? She could do some of that stuff now if she wanted, it would be fun hanging with her sis, doing girly stuff, it clearly made Zoe very happy .
"Hey Zoe, we don't need to wait a month, if you want to hang out and do something just let me know, I think Sarah wants the squad to have a Welcome to girlhood party for me tonight but any other time I'd love to spend time with you"
That earned Sarah Jane another hug and a promise to let her know tomorrow, the Goth Squad, all grinning and happier than any one could ever remember seeing them went on their way, leaving Sarah-Jane stunned, she had barely been a girl for twenty minutes and already things were looking up, she could barely contain how happy she felt, and then things got even more interesting - Karyn walked past, alone and deep in thought as she headed to the Lunch room.
"Hey, Karyn!" called Sarah, " Can we talk?"
Karyn looked at her, and then her keen eyes spotted the other Sarah, she did a double take.
"I never knew you had a twin Sarah, is she the good twin then?" Karyn snarked
"No Kare bear, we've known each other all our lives said Sarah-Jane"
"Jon?!!! what the Fu.....?!!!"
