I was going to see if I could find my way out of the forest when I heard some running and the sounds of rustling leaves. I looked around in surprise. I caught a glimpse of fur running past me a few yards away. There seemed to be at least two of them. Since it was a problem, I decided to hurry and go in the same direction as them. I did not want to be left behind. I could be killed by a hostile mob if it tried to look for targets. It certainly would be easy for it if it was higher than Level 5. I also could possibly join up with some allies and get some weapons to protect myself. Doing so would help me out in the long run. Whoever it was that ran past were very fast. I could only barely keep up with them. Even then, it took me 10 minutes to reach a clearing where they seemed to have stopped. Hearing some heavy breathing and groaning, it seemed as though some of them were injured. I approached them slowly, but a twig on the ground announced my presence when I stepped on it. "Shit!" I hissed. "He-hey! Who's there!?" one of them said. "Sh-show your-yourself!" another called out. I was totally caught.
Because I was caught by them, it would not help me to hide from them. Especially with my very low level. My Stealth stat would let me be easily discovered by whoever it was out there. I still never got a full look on who was there. If they were all hostile mobs, I would have to do a lot of fast talking to not get killed. In the beginning of a run, that was not necessarily a problem, It might mean that I would start as a conscript of a negative faction. I approached until I got over to the bushes separating me from the clearing. I stopped there. "Come out already!" a third voice demanded. So there were at least three people out there. "I heard some panting and groaning over here. I thought some might need help. Are you guys alright!?" I asked them. "If you don't come out right now, I'm going not going to hold back against you!" the second voice in the lush clearing said. I could not stall any longer without risking them all becoming hostile towards me. I moved through the brush at a slow pace to make sure I got over there safely. Once I was in the clearing, I saw that there were 3 beastkin just laying down.
Looking closer, they seemed to be rabbitkin. One of them got up and said "An elf!? This is not your part of the forest. What are you doing here!?" He was white with dark brown spots. I put a hand to my head and said I was traveling. The brown rabbitkin looked dirty and a bit scuffed up. They looked to be very sweaty and red in the face. I would have thought that running was not a big problem for them. "Do you guys need some help?" I asked them again as I slowly approached them again. All three of the rabbitkin got up and looked nervous. It seemed that they did not really trust me. It made sense in this situation. When I was an arm's length away, I said "I can help if you need it. What's wrong!?" The white one looked at the others. They just looked back at him, still panting and groaning. "We... don't need your help, elf. It's not like you can anyway." I looked at him and saw he had the most developed physique out of the 3. I put a hand on his shoulder. "Just beacuse I'm an elf doesn't mean I'm just going to ignore someone in need. We can sit down and talk about it for a bit." He got even more red.
